摘要: In an OFDM mobile communications system, an algorithm for forming a preliminary estimate of the channel on pilot subcarriers is carried out. Based on this preliminary estimate, a channel property is estimated. This channel property is then used to decide whether to enter a mobile receiver mode or a stationary receiver mode. For example, in the mobile mode channel estimation is performed using only pilot symbols from the current symbol period, while in the static mode channel estimation is performed using pilot symbols from the current symbol period and pilot symbols from other symbol periods.

摘要: In a receiver for processing OFDM encoded signals, wherein the OFDM encoded digital signals are transmitted by means of a symbol in each of subcarrier frequency channels, with at least some of said subcarriers containing user data symbols, an initial estimate of a channel frequency response is formed from magnitudes of user data symbols received in those subcarriers. Then, a correlation function of a channel impulse response is estimated by performing an inverse Fourier transform on the initial estimate of the channel frequency response, and the length of the channel impulse response is estimated by examining peaks in the estimated correlation function of the channel impulse response.

摘要: A method for automatically monitoring consciousness of a person and triggering an alarm if the monitored person is not in a state of full consciousness is provided. The method comprises the steps: monitoring at least one aspect of the behavior of the person (S1); analyzing whether the monitored behavior of the person corresponds to an expected behavior for a state of full consciousness or not (S2, S2′); triggering an alarm if the analysis results in that the detected behavior does not correspond to the expected behavior (S3).

摘要: A record carrier has a servo track indicating an information track intended for recording information blocks, which servo track has a variation of a physical parameter, referred to as wobble. The wobble is modulated for encoding record carrier information, such as addresses. The servo track is subdivided in non-modulated and parts modulated parts in which the frequency and/or phase of the variation deviates from the wobble frequency. The slope of the wobble is substantially continuous at transitions between the modulated and non-modulated parts by using wobbles starting at the maxima or minima of the wobble.

摘要: A method for driving a light source (11, 12, 13) is described, wherein the light source is alternately switched ON and OFF in an ON/OFF pattern, wherein the duty cycle of the ON/OFF pattern is varied to vary the average light intensity of the light source, and wherein the shape of the ON/OFF pattern is varied to transmit data. Thus, a control signal for the light source comprises data information as well as duty cycle information. The duty cycle is varied within a range from almost zero to almost 100%, and data is varied and transmitted without affecting the duty cycle.

摘要: Coded light has been proposed to enable advanced control of light sources and transmit information using light sources. Sequences of channel symbols to drive the light source are determined from sequences of source symbols such that no visible flicker is present in coded light emitted by the light sources. Each source symbol is mapped to a composite channel symbol comprising at least one first channel symbol which may be identical to the current source symbol and at least one second channel symbol which may be a function of the current source symbol and at least one future and/or past source symbol.
