    摘要： An apparatus for providing electrical protection to a protected circuit in electrical communication with an electrical source is disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing, a separable conduction path in series connection with the protected circuit, an operating mechanism in operable communication with the separable conduction path, a thermal element in thermal communication with the separable conduction path, and an electronic trip unit in signal communication with the thermal element and in operable communication with the operating mechanism. The electronic trip unit is adapted to sense a voltage drop across the thermal element and to trip the operating mechanism in response to the sensed voltage drop being in excess of a first trip threshold.

    摘要： A device for testing for a wiring fault condition is disclosed. The device includes an electrical connector, a first signal generator, a second signal generator, and a user interface. The electrical connector includes first and second contacts that are configured to establish an electrical connection to the wiring. The first signal generator is in signal communication with the electrical connector, and is configured to generate a signal on the wiring and to receive a reflected signal therefrom. The second signal generator is in signal communication with the electrical connector, and is configured to generate a radio frequency signal on the wiring. The user interface is in signal communication with either or both of the first and second signal generators.

    摘要： A method for recording and having analyzed waveform data associated with an electronic circuit breaker having an electronic trip unit is disclosed. The electronic trip unit has a communication port and is capable of providing to the communication port a first signal representative of a phase current passing through the circuit breaker, and a second signal representative of a conditional event at the circuit breaker. The method includes facilitating the connection of a waveform recorder device to the communication port of the electronic trip unit; facilitating recording in a first memory of the waveform recorder device in a circular queue fashion information relating to the first signal received from the electronic trip unit; and, in response to the second signal received from the electronic trip unit, facilitating the stopping of the recording in the first memory.

The circuit breaker includes a set of main contacts, an operating mechanism, a remotely operable drive system configured to open and close the main contacts separate from actuation of the operating mechanism, and a control circuit in operable communication with the main contacts. The drive system includes a motor, and a primary drive responsive to the motor and in operable communication to open and close the main contacts. The control circuit indicates a closed main contact state in response to the operating mechanism being in an on position and the main contacts being closed, and an open main contact state in response to the operating mechanism being in an on position and the main contacts being held open via the drive system.

    摘要： A circuit breaker configured to be remotely operated is disclosed. The circuit breaker includes a set of main contacts configured to connect between an electrical source and an electrical load, an operating mechanism in operable communication to open and close the main contacts, and a remotely operable drive system configured to open and close the main contacts separate from actuation of the operating mechanism. The drive system includes a motor responsive to first and second control signals, a primary drive responsive to the motor, and an opening spring responsive to the primary drive, the main contacts being responsive to the opening spring. In response to the first control signal, the primary drive moves to charge the opening spring, and in response to the second control signal and the main contacts being closed, the primary drive moves to allow the opening spring to discharge thereby resulting in the main contacts opening independent of the motor.

    摘要： Multi-layer composite structures offer improved weatherability and adhesion to fiber-reinforced plastic substrates when compared to structures now available. These composites have an outer layer made from a polyacrylate, a second layer made from an acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate rubber terpolymer; a third layer made from an ABS polymer; and optionally a fourth layer made from a polyacrylate. The layers include one or more layers having an improvement selected from among: (a) the improvement wherein the second layer is made from an acrylate-modified acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate rubber terpolymer; (b) the improvement wherein the third layer is a modified ABS that further includes a polymer modifier that decreases the softening of the ABS on contact with styrene, and an acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate rubber terpolymer; and (c) the improvement wherein the fourth layer is present and is a polyacrylate. This composite can be applied to a fiber-reinforced plastic substrate such as fiberglass as a coating.
