摘要： A torsion axle assembly for supporting of a vehicle body on an undercarriage, including an elongated inner member having an inner member longitudinal axis; a torsion arm interconnected with the elongated inner member and the undercarriage; an elongated enclosure interconnected with the vehicle body and having an interior space; and resilient polymeric material residing within the interior space to support the elongated inner member within the interior space, such that the inner member longitudinal axis resides at an unloaded camber angle to an elongated enclosure longitudinal axis when none of the weight of the vehicle body is borne by the torsion axle assembly and at a loaded camber angle when the weight of the vehicle body is borne by the torsion axle assembly, such that the unloaded camber angle is greater than the loaded camber angle. A vehicle having such a torsion axle assembly and a method are disclosed.

摘要： A motor vehicle includes a bodywork structural element and a running gear, such as a vehicle back end, that includes at least one arm. The at least one arm includes a top attachment end that is received in a sheet metal clevis supported on a bottom surface of a floor of the bodywork structural element. The attachment end includes at least one transverse tubular sleeve that is received with reduced play between two parallel flanks of the clevis, and an attachment screw capable of passing through two coaxial bores of both flanks and the transverse tubular sleeve to enable attachment of the attachment end into the clevis. The clevis guides the attachment end into a position for aligning the bores of the flanks and the sleeve.

摘要： An auxiliary axle or lift axle is pivotally mounted to the frame of a vehicle for selectively providing additional flotation for the vehicle. A pair of frame brackets are secured to the frame members of the vehicle and have horizontally disposed mounting plates adjacent to the lower ends thereof. A bracket member extends downwardly from one end of the mounting plate and has a pair of spaced-apart slots formed therein. A bracket member also extends downwardly from the other end of the frame bracket and has a pair of spaced-apart first and second slots formed therein. The hanger brackets are adjustably secured to the bracket members to permit the axle assembly to be mounted on frame members having varying distances therebetween and having varying frame thicknesses. The novel method of securing the hanger brackets to the frame brackets is also disclosed.
