Abstract:
An apparatus for supporting a worker's body part, for example a surgeon's arm, is provided. The body part is supported by a base movably supported by a support. The apparatus has a free mode and a limitation mode, which are switchable. When it is determined that the body part is attempting to move the base or a fastening member, the operating mode is switched to the free mode. When it is determined that the body part is not attempting to move the base or the fastening member, the operating mode is switched to the limitation mode. The free mode allows the fastening member to fasten the body part on the base and allows a brake to release limitations to the motions of the base. The limitation mode allows the fastening member to release the body part from being fastened and allows the brake to limit the motions of the base.
Abstract:
In a method and apparatus for supporting dental implantation surgery, a three-dimensional CT image of jaws of an object is acquired. A reference site of the jaws and an implantation position of a gum in the jaws are set in the three-dimensional CT image. The implant is implanted at the implantation position. A three-dimensional optical image of an inside of an oral cavity of the object is then produced. The reference site is positionally set in the three-dimensional optical image through recognition of a shape of the reference site in the three-dimensional optical image. A surgical tool is positionally controlled to the implantation position in the oral cavity, based on i) a relationship between the position of the reference site and the implantation position of the gum in the three-dimensional CT image and ii) the position of the reference site in the three-dimensional optical image.
Abstract:
In a blood pressure measuring device, a casing is held in both hands. A pair of electrocardiographic electrodes are respectively provided to allow contact with the hands holding the casing, and detect electrocardiographic signals through the hands. A pulse wave sensor is provided to allow contact with either of the hands holding the casing, and detects pulse wave signals through the hand. Based on these detected signals, a measuring section acquires measurement information including: a time difference between an electrocardiographic R wave and a pulse wave reference point; and a pulse wave amplitude. A calculating section calculates blood pressure using the measurement information. A display section displays the blood pressure. A measurement starting section enables the measuring section to start acquisition of the measurement information in a state in which contact is maintained between the hands holding the casing and the corresponding electrocardiographic electrodes and pulse wave sensor.
