    Abstract: A distance estimation device includes: a portable terminal; a communication device; a distance estimation unit estimating a distance between the portable terminal and the communication device; and a phase determination unit. The communication device determining a phase shift amount from a reference phase following a predetermined generating rule and generates measuring data by applying the determined phase shift amount. The phase determination unit determines a distance estimation phase for distance estimating purpose. The distance estimation unit adopts an estimated distance when a difference between the estimated distances respectively calculated based on at least two sets of combinations of the distance estimation phases is within a predetermined range.

    Abstract: A smart key and a mobile terminal store therein key information to be used for authentication with a vehicle to function as a key (key device) of a vehicle. Each of the smart key and the mobile terminal performs communication for authentication with an in-vehicle system or the like by BLE communication. For power saving, the smart key basically operates in a sleep mode in which the BLE communication is not possible. On receiving a wake signal periodically transmitted from the vehicle, the smart key transitions to a state where the BLE communication is possible. When sensing the presence of the mobile terminal within a predetermined distance from the vehicle, the in-vehicle system stops the periodic transmission of the wake signal.

    Abstract: A vehicle wireless device is used in a state being attached to an attachment surface of a vehicle.     Abstract: A security system includes a portable terminal, a communication device communicating with the portable terminal, and a determination unit determining validity of the portable terminal. Phase data acquired from distance measuring radio wave is used to determine validity of communication between the portable terminal and the communication device. The received phase data of the distance measuring radio wave varies according to the distance from a transmission source. When the communication device and the portable terminal are fixed, and the communication device and the portable terminal have transmitted and received distance measuring radio waves having the same specific frequency, vehicle acquisition phase data and terminal acquisition phase data are the same. The determination unit determines, by using this two types of phase data, the validity of communication between the communication device and the portable terminal is determined.

    Abstract: An in-vehicle system executes authentication of a mobile device multiple times from a parking state until an engine is started. The in-vehicle system operates in an alert mode when a vehicle is parked, and transmits an authentication signal including a strength change signal. When the in-vehicle system operates in an alert cancellation mode, the mobile device returns a response signal only when there is a change in the strength of the received authentication signal. When the in-vehicle system succeeds in authentication of the mobile device in an authentication process in the alert mode, the in-vehicle system shifts to the alert cancellation mode. When the in-vehicle system operates in the alert cancellation mode, the mobile device returns the response signal irrespective of whether there is the change in the strength of the received authentication signal.

    Abstract: An electronic key system includes an on-board device and an electronic key for wireless communication. The on-board device includes: a pattern determining unit sequentially changes and determines a variation pattern of the electromagnetic wave intensity of a measurement signal; a request signal generating unit generating a request signal to which the measurement signal is added; and an LF transmitter sequentially transmitting the request signal so that the variation pattern of the electromagnetic wave intensity of the measurement signal in the request signal is changed by the pattern determining unit. The electronic key includes: an LF receiver receiving the request signal; a measurement unit sequentially measuring the variation pattern; and a key transmitter transmitting a response signal to the on-board device. The on-board device further includes: an on-board device receiver receiving the response signal; and a verifying section establishing verification of the electronic key.
