Abstract: A gesture detection device that detects a gesture of an operator who changes a face direction while visually observing a target display object displayed in a display area, includes: a line-of-sight detection section that detects a line-of-sight direction of the operator according to a captured image of an imaging unit; a face direction detection section that detects a face direction of the operator according to the captured image; and a gesture determination section that compares a first time at which the operator starts changing the face direction with a second time at which the operator starts changing the line-of-sight direction, and determines whether the gesture is performed, according to a delay of the second time relative to the first time in addition to an expansion of a difference between the line-of-sight direction and the face direction.

Abstract: An iris detection device includes a candidate detection unit, a candidate narrowing-down unit, and an iris specifying unit. The candidate detection unit detects circular regions as iris candidates from images captured by an infrared camera. The candidate narrowing-down unit narrows down the detected iris candidates into a predetermined number of iris candidates with use of data items of images of surroundings of each of the iris candidates. The iris specifying unit specifies one of the predetermined number of iris candidates obtained by the narrowing-down as an iris by matching between gradients of a contour of each of the predetermined number of iris candidates and iris templates.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes: a camera that captures surroundings of a vehicle and generates a capture image; an image processing circuit that is supplied with the capture image as successive image data, performs predetermined image processing, and outputs an output image including display-use image data; and a liquid crystal panel that displays the output image as a motion picture. The display apparatus further includes: a traveling state detector that detects a signal comparable to a traveling state of the vehicle; and a correction section provided in the image processing circuit. The correction section performs residual image correction to suppress occurrence of a residual image in the output image due to a decreased response rate of the liquid crystal panel, in accordance with a traveling state of the vehicle acquired by the traveling state detector when a temperature of the liquid crystal panel is lower than a predetermined temperature.

Abstract: A parking assistance apparatus mounted on a vehicle includes a display processor that displays an image on a right-side display disposed on a right side with respect to a driver, and displays an image on a left-side display disposed on a left side with respect to the driver located in the interior of the vehicle, and a calculator that recognizes boundary lines of a parking area located in the rear of the vehicle, and specifies a gap in a vehicle width direction between the vehicle and one of the boundary lines on each of the left side and the right side to determine a leftward off-center or a rightward off-center. The display processor displays a vehicle off-center image indicating a result determined by the calculator on each of the right-side display and the left-side display together with the image captured.
