Abstract: Provided is a pressure sensitive adhesive article comprising (a) a substrate (Sa) (b) in contact with the substrate (Sa), a layer (Lb) of a pressure sensitive composition (Cb) that comprises one or more acrylic polymer (POLb) having Tg of 20° C. or lower, and (c) in contact with the layer (Lb), a layer (Lc) that comprises, (i) one or more acrylic polymer (POLc1) having Tg of 20° C. or lower, and (ii) one or more acrylic tackifier polymer having Tg of −10° C. or higher. Also provided are a method of making the pressure sensitive adhesive article and a bonded article made by using the pressure sensitive adhesive article.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive composition. In an embodiment, the water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive composition includes (A) an acrylic dispersion composed of particles of (i) an acrylic-based polymer with a glass transition temperature (Tg) less than −20° C., and (ii) a surfactant. The water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive composition also includes (B) an ethylene-based polymer dispersion comprising an ethylene and vinyl acetate copolymer and an ethylene acid copolymer. Further disclosed are articles with the water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive composition.

Abstract: A melt blended composition comprising, in weight percent (wt %) based upon the weight of the composition: (A) 55 to 94.98 wt % of a thermoplastic polymer, (B) 5 to 44.98 wt % of a moisture curable polymer, (C) 0.01 to 5 wt % of a moisture condensation catalyst, and (D) 0.01 to 5 wt % of a foaming agent, exhibits enhanced foaming, rheological and mechanical properties as compared to a composition alike in all aspects save for the presence of a moisture curable polymer.

Abstract: Coated conductors comprising a conductor and elongated polymeric coatings at least partially surrounding the conductor, where the elongated polymeric coatings comprise a polymeric matrix material and a plurality of microcapillaries defining individual, discrete void spaces. Such coated conductors are lighter in weight relative to coated conductors having polymeric coatings without microcapillaries. Also disclosed are dies and methods for making such coated conductors.

Abstract: Methods of curtain coating substrates are disclosed. In some embodiments, the methods include applying two or more liquid layers simultaneously to a substrate, wherein the multiple layers include a bottom liquid layer comprising a shear thinning liquid, and another liquid layer comprising a viscoelastic liquid. In some embodiments, the disclosed methods include formulating a bottom layer liquid comprising a shear thinning liquid, formulating another layer liquid comprising a viscoelastic liquid, pumping the bottom layer liquid and the other layer liquid through coating dies simultaneously and onto a moving substrate such that the bottom layer liquid impinges on the substrate thereby forming a bottom layer, and the other layer liquid forms another liquid layer above the bottom liquid layer. The inclusion of a bottom liquid layer comprising a shear thinning liquid and other layer comprising a viscoelastic liquid provides for enlargement of the curtain coating window.

Abstract: Pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are disclosed comprising acrylic emulsions that are emulsion polymerization products of (a) a monomer mixture comprising, based on the total weight of monomers in the monomer mixture, from 50 to 99 weight percent 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and from 1 to 50 weight percent an unsaturated monomer, (b) a surfactant, and (c) an initiator. Methods for preparing pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are also disclosed. Food contact articles comprising the disclosed pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are also disclosed. In some embodiments, the disclosed food contact articles have an overall migration of less than 25 mg/dm2, as measured in accordance with EN 1186, or less than 10 mg/dm2, as measured in accordance with EN 1186.
