摘要: A polymeric composition includes a first ethylene-based polymer having a density of 0.941 g/cc to 0.970 g/cc as measured according to ASTM D792, a second ethylene-based polymer has a density of 0.860 g/cc to 0.930 g/cc as measured according to ASTM D792, and an additive selected from the group consisting of an antioxidant, a hindered amine light stabilizer and combinations thereof. The polymeric composition has a Total Comonomer Content of 2.9 wt % or greater based on a total weight of the polymeric composition.

摘要: The present disclosure provides polymeric compositions with balanced electrical and mechanical properties exhibiting reduced hysteresis comprising an electrically insulating polymeric material, a first carbon black material having a statistical thickness surface area (STSA) of below 70 m2/g and an oil absorption number (OAN) in the range from 70 to 150 mL/100 g, and a second carbon black material having a statistical thickness surface area (STSA) of at least 100 m2/g and an oil absorption number (OAN) of at least 150 mL/100 g, wherein both carbon black materials are included in an amount below its respective percolation threshold concentration, with the total amount of the first carbon black material and the second carbon black material being sufficient to render the polymeric composition antistatic or electrically conductive. The polymeric compositions exhibit balanced electrical and mechanical properties and a reduced hysteresis. The disclosure also relates to a process for preparing such antistatic or electrically conductive polymeric compositions and articles produced from such compositions.

The cables include an inner conductor, crosslinked insulation having carbon black dispersed therein surrounding the inner conductor, and an ultraviolet stable colored skin coat which optionally includes titanium dioxide. A method of making ultraviolet-resistant jacketed insulated conductors is also included in this disclosure.

摘要: The present invention relates to a crosslinkable polyolefin composition for wire and cable applications, and particularly for low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) cables, to a cable comprising said compositions and to the use of said compositions for increasing the tensile strength and/or flexibility of a cable. The crosslinkable polyolefin composition of the invention comprises (a) 50 to 99 wt. %, based on the total polyolefin composition, of one or more ethylene copolymer(s) containing monomer units with polar groups and monomer units with hydrolysable silane groups, wherein the monomer units with polar groups are present in an amount of from 1 to 25 mol. % based on the total polyolefin composition, and (b) 1 to 50 wt. %, based on the total polyolefin composition, of a copolymer of ethylene and a C3 to C8 alpha-olefin co-monomer having a density of from 850 to 970 kg/m3 and a MFR2.16 of from 0.1 to 50 g/10 min. determined according to ISO 1133 at a temperature of 190° C. and a load of 2.16 kg. A cable comprising such a crosslinkable polyolefin composition and its use for increasing the tensile strength and/or flexibility of a cable are disclosed as well.

摘要: The present invention relates to a polypropylene composition comprising (A) a copolymer of propylene and comonomer units selected from ethylene and alpha-olefins having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms with a total amount of comonomer units of from 10.0 to 16.0 wt %, based on the total amount of monomer units in the polypropylene composition, and (B) an alpha-nucleating agent; wherein the polypropylene composition has a xylene cold soluble (XCS) fraction in a total amount of from 25.0 to 50.0 wt %, based on the total weight amount of the polypropylene composition, with an amount of comonomer units of at least 23.0 wt %, based on the total amount of monomer units in the xylene cold soluble (XCS) fraction, a melt flow rate MFR2 of from 0.5 to 5.0 g/10 min, and a flexural modulus of not more than 470 MPa, an article comprising said polypropylene composition, preferably a cable comprising an insulation layer comprising said polypropylene composition and the use of said polypropylene composition as cable insulation for medium and high voltage cables.
