The driving method includes selecting subpixels from different frame periods with different selecting modes in order to form a pixel array, and driving the pixel array. Different pixel arrays that are formed with subpixels selected from different frame periods are shifted by a distance of one subpixel along the row direction, the column direction, or both directions from each other. Thus, the image resolution of a display panel is improved.

The common electrode layer is disposed over the opposite substrate. The two inorganic alignment films are disposed over the pixel electrode layer and the common electrode layer respectively. The negative dielectric anisotropic liquid crystal layer is disposed between the two inorganic alignment films, and is aligned parallel to the inorganic alignment films. The reflective type liquid crystal micro display panel has the advantages of low cost and high performance of display.

The reflective LCOS panel includes a silicon substrate, an opposite substrate, a liquid crystal layer and a polarizer. The silicon substrate has a pixel array thereon. The opposite substrate is disposed over the silicon substrate and has a transparent electrode thereon. The liquid crystal layer fills up the space between the pixel array of the silicon substrate and the transparent electrode of the opposite substrate. The polarizer is set up on the silicon substrate or the opposite substrate. As described above, the integration of the polarizer with the reflective LCOS panel inside a projection apparatus can effectively reduce the cost, volume and weight of the projection apparatus.
