    摘要: The present invention relates to a dry composition that can be used as a herbicide. The composition contains N-(4-fluorophenyl)-N-(1-methylethyl)-2-[[5-(trifluoromethyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl]oxy]acetamide, 4-amino-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-3-(methylthio)-1,2,4-triazin-5-(4H)-one, and a pH adjusting agent. The pH adjusting agent is present in an amount such that it constitutes from about 0.1% to about 10% of the composition, and the resulting pH is from about 2.8 to about 5.4. The molar ratio of 4-amino-6-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-3-(methylthio)-1,2,4-triazin-5-(4H)-one to N-(4-fluorophenyl)-N-(1-methylethyl)-2-[[5-(trifluoromethyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl]oxy]acetamide in the composition is from about 1:1 to about 1:6.

    摘要: A process for the production of methyl dithiocarbazinate includes the steps of providing a mixture comprising hydrazine, solvent, carbon disulfide and base; adding methyl bromide to the mixture; cooling the reaction mixture; and recovering methyl dithiocarbazinate. The methyl dithiocarbazinate may be recovered by filtering the reaction mixture to yield a solid methyl dithiocarbazinate retentate and a liquid filtrate; acidifying the filterate with a mineral acid; and adding methyl isobutylketone to the acidified filterate.

    摘要: An epoxide is produced by reacting a sulfonium salt with a ketone in the presence of a low molecular weight alcohol or ether and an alkali metal hydroxide at a temperature of from about 60.degree. to about 90.degree. C. The alkali metal hydroxide is in the solid form. The reaction is generally carried out in the presence of an organic solvent such as toluene. The preferred low molecular weight ether is diethylene glycol. Water is not added to the reaction mixture.

    摘要: In the production of an S-substituted isothiourea including the function group ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl radical, wherein a thiourea including the functional group ##STR2## is reacted with an etherifying agent to replace H by R.sup.1, the improvement which comprises effecting the reaction in two steps, in the first step reacting the thiourea material with an etherifying agent including the radical Rin whichR is an alkyl, alkenyl aryl or aralkyl radical different from R.sup.1 thereby to produce the ether ##STR3## and in the second step reacting the ether with a compound of the formula R.sup.1 SH. The process is particularly applicable to the production of the known herbicide ##STR4## from the corresponding thiourea where in the first step methyl bromide or methyl iodide is used to form the S-methyl isothiourea which is then interchanged with ethyl mercaptan. Higher overall yields and/or economies are thereby achieved.
