    摘要: The present invention provides a system, a method and a computer usable medium including a program for determining a position of a mobile vehicle. This may be accomplished by receiving a positioning request from the mobile vehicle, receiving positioning information from at least three vehicle clients sharing an antenna tower with the mobile vehicle and transmitting a signal to the three vehicles. It may also be accomplished by determining a distance between the mobile vehicle and each of the vehicle clients, receiving positioning information from each of the vehicle clients and determining mobile vehicle position based on the determined distances and the vehicle client positioning information.

    摘要: The present invention provides a system, a method, and a computer usable medium that includes a program, for generating navigation instructions for a vehicle. This may be done by determining whether a first proximity area associated with a first maneuver point overlaps with a second maneuver proximity area associated with a second maneuver point and determining whether a first vehicle location is within the first proximity area. It may also be done by determining a first distance between the first vehicle location and a zero point associated with the first maneuver point and determining a second distance between a second vehicle location and the zero point associated with the first maneuver point. It may also be one by truncating the first proximity area based on a comparison of the first distance and the second distance.

This may be done by determining a number of shape points between a set of primary maneuver points and determining whether the number of shape points exceeds a cardinal threshold; determining a great circle distance and a bearing between a first shape point and a second shape point, determining whether the bearing exceeds an angular threshold and eliminating the second shape point if it is determined that the bearing exceeds the angular threshold.

    摘要: A method of improving a vehicle emergency call network used during an enhanced 911 call, which is especially useful in environments having degraded GPS signals. The present method utilizes an independent position enhancement algorithm, such as a dead reckoning algorithm, and converts the output of that algorithm into a compatible format compatible with a position determining entity (PDE). Some independent position enhancement algorithms return output in the form of position information (typically, two- or three-dimensional coordinates), however, most PDEs only accept information in the form of pseudo-ranges. Thus, the present method provides a technique in which the advantages of an independent position enhancement algorithm are enjoyed, yet a compatible output is sent to the PDE.

    摘要: A system is provided for locating a vehicle. The system comprises a transmission device such as a key fob for transmission and receiving of a signal. Typically the key fob has a plurality of indicators such as LED indicators arranged in a circle. The key fob is adapted to transmit a radio frequency or microwave frequency transmission signal. An antenna array is positioned on or in a vehicle. The array comprises a plurality of antennas, generally arranged in a circular pattern. The array is adapted to receive the transmission signal from the transmission device which is converted to be analyzed by a microcontroller unit (MCU). The MCU is adapted to: (i) receive digital data converted from the transmission signal, (ii) calculate an angle of arrival (AOA) or direction of arrival (DOA) based on known components and an algorithm, and (iii) transmit a selection signal back to the key fob. A signal processing unit is coupled to the plurality of antennas and the MCU. The signal processing unit is adapted to receive the signal transmission from each antenna, convert the signal to digital data, and transmit the digital data to the MCU.
