    摘要: Automation of the coulometric Karl Fischer titration has allowed for the accurate, precise determination of moisture content of lyophilized hGH formulations. The system of the present invention utilizes a vented, two-hole sampling/dispensing probe that dispenses titrant and withdraws sample solution through the closed container rubber septum into the Karl Fischer titration reaction vessel. This approach eliminates erroneous results due to environmental moisture contamination or loss of material during the sample transfer process. The system of the present invention is also equipped with a fixed loop valving system, which facilitates the precise measurement of a defined amount of water as a standard. This allows for an accurate accessment of system suitability that was lacking with commercial water standards due to inaccurate moisture content presumably from moisture contamination of the standard under storage and/or at the time of manufacture. The use of the automated system of the present invention has led to a more complete understanding of the role of moisture content on hGH stability and this technology is applicable to other pharmaceuticals where an accurate moisture content determination is needed.

    摘要: A wheel clamp attaches to a vehicle wheel for performing a wheel alignment on the vehicle. The wheel clamp has a body for supporting a target or measuring head, and three extendable arms slidably mounted to the body. Each arm has a gripping portion for gripping the tire's tread surface and a sidewall contact portion for contacting the tire sidewall such that the clamp body is substantially parallel to the vehicle wheel and the wheel clamp has no contact with the rim. A self-centering linkage has enmeshed gears and link arms respectively connecting the arms to the gears, such that when the gears are rotated, the arms simultaneously proportionally slide relative to the clamp body, so the gripping portions of the arms engage and grip the tire tread surface and tighten the clamp onto the tire, while the sidewall contact portions of the arms contact the tire sidewall.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for automatically identifying faults in the operation of a machine vision measuring systems provides an improved self-diagnostic capability for machine vision based metrology and tracking systems. The method and apparatus validate performance of tracking operations, and detect deterioration that may be caused by electronic noise, environmental contamination, etc. A mathematical model of the target visualized by the system is created and stored. A target is imaged in the field and fiducials of the target are identified. Centroid positions of detected fiducials of the imaged target are compared to the centroid positions of fiducials in the mathematical model. When a fiducial is obscured or dirty, its geometric characteristics (such as centroid, brightness, edge smoothness, area, or shape) differ from the true or idealized values of the characteristics. Values representing detected fiducials are discarded when the offset exceeds predetermined criteria, or when its properties vary from ideal. If the remaining number of detected fiducials is below a predetermined threshold, a warning message is displayed or an error is generated. Thus, when a fault is detected that degrades performance beyond a preset tolerance, the fault is flagged for attention and a suggested corrective action is displayed.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for determining axial stability compares measured wheel runout and axial instability parameters with prescribed tolerances to determine if the wheel suffers from excessive wheel play. Axial stability and runout is determined and displayed on a monitor screen such that an alignment technician can quickly assess both the degree of present wheel misalignment and the feasibility of attempting to perform a realignment operation without first repairing worn or damaged suspension parts. The attitude and location of a wheel are measured with the wheel set in a first position to determine a first vector having a predetermined relation to the wheel. The wheel is rolled back a number of degrees to a second position and the attitude and location thereof are measured to determine a second vector also having the predetermined relation to the wheel. Rearward axis parameters including a rearward rotational axis vector and a rearward runout vector are determined based on the first and second vectors. The wheel is rolled forward to a third position which is substantially equal to the first position and the attitude and location of the wheel are measured to determine a third vector also having the predetermined relation to the wheel. Forward axis parameters, including a forward rotational axis vector and a forward runout vector, are determined based on the second and third vectors. Dynamic stability vectors including a rotational axis stability vector and a runout stability vector are determined based on the forward and rearward axis parameters.
