    摘要： Hydroxy sulfonic acids in general and isethionic acid (2-hydroxy ethyl sulfonic acid) in particular can be prepared at 99+% purity and good yields by the selective oxidation of a precursor hydroxy mercaptan with hydrogen peroxide. The resulting product is pure enough to be used directly in the synthesis of sulfo-acrylic esters which are finding considerable use as stabilizers in producing vinylidene chloride copolymers used for FDA approved packaging films.

    摘要： This invention provides a coated thermoplastic film label comprising a first skin layer comprising a thermoplastic wherein the first skin layer has a first side and a second side, wherein the first skin layer is voided and wherein the first side has an open-cell structure; a core layer comprising a polyolefin, wherein the core layer has a first side and a second side, and the first side of the core layer is adjacent to the second side of the first skin layer; and a second skin layer comprising a polyolefin, wherein the second skin layer has a first side and a second side, the first side of the second skin layer is adjacent to the second side of the core layer, wherein the second side of the second skin layer has a closed-cell structure and wherein the second side is suitable for a surface treatment selected from the group consisting of flame, corona, and plasma treatment; metallization, coating, printing; and combinations thereof, and an inorganic coating on the first side of the first skin layer.

    摘要： A laminated multilayer film substrate for use in the production of banknotes having an oriented polypropylene core layer and at least one high density polyethylene layer on each side of the oriented polypropylene layer. The core layer may contain microcavities formed by the addition of a cavitating agent. The outer surfaces of the multilayer film substrate are coated with one or more epoxy layers, filed or unfilled, and one or more antistatic layers. The resultant films exhibit good embossability, dead-fold characteristics and other properties, making them highly suited for the production of bank notes and other security documents.
