    摘要: A multimodal electronic device (100) includes a shutter enabled dynamic keypad for presenting one of a plurality of keypad configurations to a user. Each keypad configuration, which is presented by an optical shutter (204) that opens or closes windows or shutters that are geometrically configured as alphanumeric or device keys or symbols. Each keypad configuration comprises a plurality of mode based actuators, wherein the plurality of mode based actuators comprises at least a ten-digit keypad actuator set (2000) and a curved scroll device (1903). The optical shutter (204) is a low-resolution display that presents user actuation targets to a user in a low-resolution key area. As each mode of the device changes, the corresponding keypad configuration presented changes accordingly.

    摘要: An audio file format is provided, which includes definitions for one or more instruments, and definitions for one or more notes, that are associated with one or more vibrational element groupings, where each vibrational element grouping includes one or more vibration sources. Received commands present in the audio file, and associated with a note and an instrument definition, are compared to determine if the associated note and instrument definitions correspond to one of the one or more vibrational element groupings. If the associated instrument definition corresponds to a vibrational element grouping, then the commands are mapped to corresponding vibrational effects, and the actuation of the one or more vibration sources of the respective vibrational element grouping is controlled. If the associated instrument definition of the received command corresponds to an audio instrument, then an audible output is controlled in accordance with the received command.

    摘要: Described below are methods and devices to automatically effect data transfer, for example for backing up data of a device, between a mobile communication device and another device, upon detection by the mobile communication device of charging current received for example from a charger. When a charger or a charging current is detected, the mobile device detects what connectivity links, such as for example, USB, Bluetooth, and/or WiFi, are available between the mobile device and another device. An automated process selects an appropriate connectivity link and then initiates one or two-way transfer of data over the automatically selected connectivity link according to the data transfer rules set by the user or by a default mechanism or algorithm. In this manner backup and/or update of data may take place automatically upon connection of a user's mobile communication device to a source of charging current.
