摘要: The present examples provide a stent for use in a medical procedure that comprises at least one apex having first and second generally straight portions and a curved portion disposed between the first and second straight portions. The curved portion may comprise at least one region having a cross-sectional area that is less than a cross-sectional area of the first and second straight portions, which may facilitate compression of the stent and insertion of the stent into smaller vessels. The stent may be used alone, or in conjunction with a stent-graft, and may comprise one or more barbs configured to engage an inner wall of a vessel or duct.

摘要: The present invention provides apparatus and methods for deployment of a modular stent-graft system. In one embodiment, a prosthesis comprises a first tubular graft comprising a layer of graft material, at least one lumen extending longitudinally therein, and a first fenestration extending through the layer of graft material. A layer of fenestration covering material attaches to the layer of graft material. The layer of fenestration covering material is disposed in the lumen of the first tubular graft and partitions the first fenestration from the lumen of the first tubular graft. A first non-stented opening is disposed proximal to the first fenestration and communicates with the first fenestration between the layer of graft material and the fenestration covering material. In use, a proximal end of a second tubular graft sealably engages the first non-stented opening, and the second tubular graft further extends through the first fenestration and into a branch vessel.

摘要: Flexible high-pressure angioplasty balloons are disclosed herein which utilize an inflatable balloon positioned upon the catheter and a supporting structure secured over or along the catheter at a first location proximal to the balloon and at a second location distal to the balloon. Inflation of the balloon reconfigures the supporting structure to urge the first location and the second location towards one another thereby inhibiting longitudinal elongation of the balloon relative to the catheter. The supporting structure may surround, support, or otherwise extend over the entire length of the balloon and allows for the balloon to retain increased flexibility which enables the balloon to bend or curve even at relatively high inflation pressures.

    摘要: A stent graft (10; 40; 80) has a tubular body (12; 42; 82) of a biocompatible material and at least two fenestrations (18, 20; 48, 50; 84, 86, 88). The at least two fenestrations (10, 20; 48, 50; 84, 86, 88) are adjacent each other and each has a tube (24, 26; 54, 55; 90, 92, 94) extending into the tubular body (12; 42; 82). The tubes (24, 26; 54, 55; 90, 92, 94) are joined inside the tubular body (12; 42; 82) into a single larger tube (30; 60; 96) to facilitate catheterization.

摘要: An endovascular stent for vascular vessels which can be used to occlude the vessel or which can be used to bridge damaged areas in the vessel. The endovascular stent comprising a stent that can be permanently expanded from a first diameter to a larger second diameter. The stent can be a helically wound wire stent, each wire comprising at least two strands, the two strands being twisted. The twisted strands securing fibers to form a fabric pile extending outwardly from stent, and optionally extending inwardly into the stent. In a second embodiment, the stent is enclosed with a tubular-like expandable graft, the graft having an exterior fabric pile made up of individual fibers. In both embodiments, the fibers or the pile are optionally coated with a hydrophilic polymeric gel which expands upon being wetted.
