摘要: An exemplary component torquing method includes applying torque to a component during an evaluation pass and collecting data during the evaluation pass. The method uses the data to customize a torque procedure for the component that will help ensure the component has a desired clamp load after the torque procedure. The method then torques the component according to the torque procedure.

摘要: Current approaches to paperless books use single screen laptop computers or electronic paper display (EPD)-based book readers. Laptop computers consume too much power and cannot be used for extended periods of time, such as an entire school day, without recharging its battery. EPD devices are limited in functionality due to their slow refresh rate and grey-scale only images. An embodiment of the present invention integrates bi-stable display technology and refresh display technology into a single device and manages the use of these technologies to achieve power savings while providing a rich set of display functionalities to support user interaction with content in a synergistic manner. The power savings functionality enables the device to have a battery operating life between charges of many hours of operation, such as eight hours or more, while the display functionality enables users to access, display, and interact with content in ways users have become accustomed and in ways not before possible.

摘要: A separable key element operably secured to a printer component base for receiving a key from a printer component to be received therein. The key indicates a required characteristic of the printer component thereby allowing only compatible printer components to be installed onto the printer component base. The key element can matingly engage the printer component base in a unique configuration such that only compatible key elements can be secured to the printer component base. Moreover, the key element can include a display surface for visually identifying the required characteristic of the printer component. In a preferred embodiment, the printer component is a detachable ink reservoir and the printer component base is secured to the carriage of an inkjet printer, thereby providing an on-axis ink reservoir.

摘要: A replaceable ink container for providing ink to an inkjet printing system. The inkjet printing system has a receiving station that is mounted to a scanning carriage. The receiving station has a keyed portion being indicative of a replaceable ink container parameter of a plurality of replaceable ink container parameters. The replaceable ink container includes a reservoir portion having a leading end and a trailing end relative to an insertion direction into the receiving station. Also included is a keying portion disposed on the trailing end and configured to be complementary to the keyed portion thereby allowing the replaceable ink container to be fully inserted into the receiving station.

摘要: A replaceable ink container for providing ink to an inkjet printing system. The replaceable ink container includes engagement features disposed on a leading edge and configured for engagement with corresponding engagement features associated with the inkjet printing system. The engagement features define a pivot axis about which the replaceable ink container pivots during an insertion into the inkjet printing system. Also included with the replaceable ink container is a plurality of electrical contacts disposed on the leading edge relative to an insertion direction. The plurality of electrical contacts are disposed on the replaceable ink container below the pivot axis so that pivoting the replaceable ink container about the pivot axis during the insertion causes the plurality of electrical contacts on the ink container to move toward corresponding electrical contacts associated with the printing system to establish an electrical interconnection therebetween.

摘要: A new inflatable liner for an aircraft or other protective helmet is disclosed. The liner includes a multiplicity of separate inflatable cells adjacently arranged in the general shape of a cap or of the inside of a helmet. Each inflatable cell includes a separate inflation tube. The inflation tubes extend out the back or side of the liner to one or more collector tubes. A valve controls a supply of inflatable fluid, typically pressurized air, to the collector tube. The inflation tubes may be grouped so that adjacent inflatable cells are differentially pressurized to provide impact energy absorption and so that inflatable cells on the sides of the helmet liner are more highly pressurized than cells on the top of the helmet liner to hold the helmet liner, and an accompanying helmet, more securely on a person's head.

摘要: Apparatus to actively assist neuromotor disabled to have better leg functional control/use. This system serves as a strength enhancer, support device, and attenuator of spastic motions. The disclosed orthosis is worn on the outside of the leg (or legs) and serves as an active/dynamic brace to prevent leg spasms and other untoward leg motion. It is made of lightweight material such as fiberglass or aluminum and is actuated by pneumatic gas sources which are small, portable, and carried with the device. The device is totally self contained and has no external connection. The system has applicability to patients such as: stroke (cerebral vascular accident), TBI (traumatic brain injury), Muscular Dystrophy, and some spinal cord injured.
