摘要: A transportable life support system for providing medical care to a patient while transporting the patient from one location to another has a platform configured to receive the patient, a plurality of medical devices attached to the platform for providing medical monitoring and medical therapy to the patient, and a control and display panel comprising controls and displays for the medical devices. The control and display panel provides a centralized location for monitoring and controlling the medical devices so as to mitigate a need for an operator to move about the platform in order to individually observe a display for each medical device and to individually control each medical device.

摘要: An automatic mechanical lockdown for releasably attaching a litter to a transportable life support system has a base having a recess formed therein and a generally arcuate latch typically attached to the base. The recess of the base is sized to receive a pole of a litter. The latch has open and closed positions with respect to the recess such that the latch is pushed from the closed position thereof to the open position thereof when a litter pole is moved toward the recess of the base. The latch returns and remains in the closed position thereof when a litter pole is disposed within the recess. A spring which is attached to the base and the latch biases the latch in the closed position thereof. The latch can be moved from the closed position to the open position thereof by a person's thumb while the person maintains his grasp upon a litter pole.

摘要: A self-contained isolation and environmental protection life support system for shielding a patient contained therein or, alternatively, isolating a contaminated patient from a clean environment while allowing treatment of traumatic injuries to the patient. The system comprises the combination of an environmental control system (ECS) and a containment enclosure that are designed to function in concert with conventional life support stretcher. The ECS component possesses an air management system that is designed and configured to extract contaminated particles and gas from the external air and deliver the same to the patient contained within the containment enclosure. To facilitate such delivery, the containment enclosure is preferably provided with a plurality of tubular passages which are designed to be filled with air provided by the ventilator system to thus cause the containment enclosure to expand to form a semi-rigid structure. A multiplicity of apertures formed upon the tubular passages that causes the purified air to pass therethrough and wash over the patient in a head-to-toe direction such that rapid removal of toxic residues is facilitated. The system further includes heating and cooling systems integrated into the ECS coupled with an environmental sensor to regulate attemporated air to a desired temperature depending on the conditions of the external environment.

摘要: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided an aircraft engine air intake cover for use with an air intake which is characterized by an air velocity profile therewithin. The air intake cover is provided with an air induction plate which disposed across at least a portion of the air intake. The air intake cover is further provided with a multitude of air induction ducts. The induction ducts are disposed about and extend through the air induction plate. Each induction duct has a duct inlet, a duct outlet and a duct body interposed between the duct inlet and the duct outlet. The duct inlets each respectively define an effective inlet diameter. The duct bodies each respectively define a duct body length which is greater than the associated effective duct inlet diameter. The duct outlets each respectively define an effective outlet diameter greater than the effective inlet diameter for increasing the cohesiveness of the air velocity profile within the air intake.
