摘要: A breathing assistance device with continuous positive airway pressure for the treatment of sleep-related breathing disorders includes an air inlet duct conveying an incoming air flow to a compressor. There is a compressed air flow at the outlet of the compressor connected to a pressurized air outlet duct to a mask applied to the respiratory tract of a patient. The air inlet duct opens into a compartment that is upstream-looking in the direction in which the air flows—from the inlet of the compressor, and has, at that location, a guiding device for the flow of air first toward a bottom wall of the compartment oriented substantially perpendicular to the direction of suction of the air in the compressor. The bottom wall is at least partially covered with a structure with rigid and non-deformable honeycomb patterns.

摘要: A drug delivery device capable of forming a medicated mist that reaches the nasal and paranasal sinus cavities contains a puncturing element within its canister. The puncturing element is used in combination with a compartment that contains a filling. The compartment is optionally detachable from an interior of the device or entirely separate from the device. The puncturing element punctures the compartment, releasing the filling into the reservoir of the device to provide a medicated liquid. The device may store any form of medication so long as the medication remains stable. When dry powder forms are desired, the reservoir and/or compartment may be filled with a solution or diluent so as to form the medicated liquid, which may then be dispensed as a mist through the device following the puncturing.

摘要: A process for ventilating a patient as well as a device—patient module (20)—operating according to the process, wherein, for example, a body weight value concerning an estimated body weight of the patient is transmitted to a patient module (20) intended for ventilating the patient, wherein the patient module (20) automatically selects ventilation parameters (52) fitting the body weight value on the basis of the body weight value and wherein the ventilation of the patient is carried out with the selected ventilation parameters (52).

摘要: An ambulatory assist ventilation (AAV) apparatus and system are disclosed for the delivery of a respiratory gas to assist the spontaneous breathing effort of a patient with a breathing disorder. The AAV system includes a compressed respiratory gas source, a respiratory assist device for controlling respiratory gas flow to the patient, a patient circuit tubing and a low profile nasal interface device, which does not have a dead space or hollow area where CO2 can collect, for delivering the respiratory gas to the patient, wherein the nasal interface device is fluidly connected to the respiratory assist device via tubing for receiving the respiratory gas therefrom. In some cases, the nasal interface device may be used in combination with other gas sources, such as oxygen concentrators, to provide dual therapy capability suitable for some applications.

摘要: A method and system of responding to adverse environmental conditions local to a user of an oxygen concentrator is disclosed. Physiological data of the user is collected. Operational data of the oxygen concentrator is collected during operation of the oxygen concentrator. Environment data local to the oxygen concentrator is collected. Based on the collected environmental data, it is determined whether adverse environmental conditions exist local to the oxygen concentrator. The collected physiological, operational, and environmental data are analyzed to determine a responsive action to the determined adverse environmental conditions. The responsive action is communicated to the user.

摘要: A stand-alone chamber or multi-chamber inhalation system has at least two alternative vaporized test liquid supply systems for passive or self-administered delivery of vaporized test fluid and air to one or more test chambers, which can be passive or restraint chambers, based on operator selection of delivery on and off times in a passive mode or actuation of an actuator in the chamber by a test animal in a self-administered mode. In one case, a multiple inhalation chamber system has two or more separate test fluid delivery systems and provides options for selective passive uniform drug delivery to multiple chambers or selective delivery of two or more different drugs to different groups of chambers from different delivery systems so that two different drugs or different concentrations of delivered drugs can be tested simultaneously.
