摘要: A coating system for reducing the tendency for hydrocarbon fluids, such as fuels and oils, to form carbonaceous deposits that adhere to fluid containment surfaces. The coating system combines an outermost layer of platinum with an inner ceramic barrier layer of silica and/or tantala. The platinum layer catalyzes the hydrocarbon fluid to form particles of carbonaceous gum substances, and the ceramic barrier layer seals the containment surface from the hydrocarbon fluid to eliminate attachments points for deposits and inhibit interdiffusion between the platinum layer and the containment surface. The invention also encompasses a coating apparatus and process for depositing the coating system.

摘要: A wireless gateway is provided that connects mobile and remote assets or employees to business enterprise users through multiple wireless networks and the Internet by using web served applications. The central core of the gateway is a location aware business component that sends and receives location based information to and from remote and mobile assets and applies business logic to the location data to enhance and automate business applications run by the enterprise user. This functionality considerably exceeds that of a traditional wireless gateway, which simply manages messages passed through multiple wireless networks but does nothing with the content of the messages. The business logic component provides a common interface and protocol for handling location information and allows applications that follow the protocol to interface with the gateway to take advantage of location information by using location data to trigger events or to tag events, messages, or other data.

摘要: A decorative lighting and rotating display fixture kit comprises a support frame for mounting the fixture to a ceiling fan, a shroud concealing the support frame, and at least one electrical light socket mounted within the shroud. A motor is mounted to extend below the support frame shroud, is concealed by a decorative motor shroud, and supports a decorative display or carousel for rotation about a vertical axis. Electrical wiring connects the light socket and the motor to the ceiling fan wiring. A switch attached to the support frame and connected to the electrical wiring controls electrical energy to the fixture kit. The fixture kit may be mounted directly to the ceiling or other wiring location as a separate fixture, without the ceiling fan.

A controller receives the output of the microphone assembly and generates an electrical cancellation signal having a polarity opposite the polarity of a portion of a noise to be cancelled and a magnitude equal to the magnitude of the portion of the noise to be cancelled. An actuator receives the electrical cancellation signal and outputs an audio cancellation signal.

摘要: A process for protecting a thermal barrier coating. The process entails applying to a surface of the coating a liquid containing one or more of aluminum alkoxides, aluminum beta-diketonates, aluminum carboxylates, and aluminum alkyls. The liquid is applied so as to form a liquid film on the surface, and has viscosity and wetting properties that cause the liquid to infiltrate porosity within the coating beneath its surface. The coating is then heated to convert the alumina precursor to alumina. A first portion of the alumina forms a surface deposit on the coating surface, while a second portion of the alumina forms an internal deposit within the porosity of the coating. The surface deposit overlying the coating is available for sacrificial reaction with CMAS, and the internal deposit maintains a level of CMAS protection in the event the surface deposit is breached or lost through spallation, erosion, and/or consumption.

摘要: An optical fiber terminus includes an elongated body with a passage along a central axis for receiving a portion of an optical fiber cable therethrough and an indexing section. A ferrule is secured to the body and has an end portion of said optical fiber cable therein. A collar is positioned on the elongated body and has an engagement section for engaging the indexing section. The collar is movable along the axis between first and second operative positions. In the first operative position relative rotational movement between the collar and the body is prevented and in the second operative position the collar may rotate relative to the body. A biasing member is provided to bias the collar towards the first operative position.
