    摘要: A slot transmission line patch connector, capable of bridging one or more slot transmission lines is comprised of an elongated dielectric connector body. The dielectric connector body is formed to have one or more slot transmission lines. Each transmission line formed in the dielectric body has first and second ends, each of which mates with corresponding first and second slot transmission lines. Alternate embodiments contemplate a dielectric body to which is attached one or more slot transmission line substrates, each of which supports one or more slot transmission lines. Each of the slot transmission line substrates provide one or more slot transmission lines that each bridge or “patch” together two, separate slot transmission lines together.

    摘要: An improved fiber optic connector assembly for connecting the ends of optical fibers to OED lenses is provided by a plug connector including a front mating end and a corresponding number of fiber receiving channels. Each channel includes an enlarged generally cylindrical portion adjacent the front end wherein the optical fiber end is coaxially positioned. The plug connector is mateable with a receptacle connector including a housing having a plug receiving socket with a front opening and a rear wall. The rear wall includes a corresponding number of spaced interface apertures aligned with each OED lens. A plurality of tubular projections coaxially aligned with and surrounding each aperture extend forwardly into the plug-receiving socket. As the plug connector is inserted into the socket, the tubular projections are received within the enlarged portions of the fiber receiving channels surrounding the fiber ends and the ends of the optical fibers are guided by the tubular projections into abutting coaxial alignment with the apertures and lenses, respectively. In a preferred embodiment, the receptacle connector housing is formed of die cast zinc to provide a shielded fiber optic link connector assembly for connecting a CPU to peripheral equipment which is characterized by reduced or eliminated EMI emissions. In an especially preferred embodiment, a shielded connector assembly including an integral switch feature is provided.

    摘要: A backplane signal connector assembly includes a header connector adapted for mounting on a backplane and a receptacle connector adapted for mounting on a daughter printed circuit board. Each connector includes a conductive housing having a cavity for receiving at least two signal terminals and at least one ground terminal. The signal terminal has an insert molded insulating mounting body about a portion thereof to provide a module for mounting in the cavity to insulate the terminal from the conductive housing. The ground terminal is in direct conductive engagement with the housing. The terminals are stamped and formed metal components. At least one ground clip is mounted on each conductive housing in direct conductive engagement therewith and is adapted for commoning to a ground on the respective backplane and daughter printed circuit board, whereby the housing establishes a primary ground reference for the connector.

A second terminal includes a first part and a second part, with the two parts being electrically isolated. The first part is adapted for connection to a sensing line. The second part of the second terminal is electrically coupled with the first terminal to complete a sensing circuit therethrough.

    摘要: An optic sensing assembly for detecting reflection at a target area includes a cable holding element formed as an integral, one-piece body having sockets for directly receiving nonterminated ends of a light supply fiber optic cable and a light receiving fiber optic cable. Stop portions in the sockets accurately position the fiber optic cable ends. A housing has a cavity slideably receiving the holding element and latch structures on the holding element and housing engage with one another to secure the holding element with stop portions positioned at a precise location relative to housing. A strain relief structure is effective upon engagement of the latch structures for holding fiber optic cable ends within the sockets. An aperture in the housing communicates with the cavity for permitting light transmission between the cable ends and the target area. A lens structure formed integrally in the holding element directs or focuses light along paths from the cable ends to the target area.

    摘要: A connector provides mechanical strength and impedance-conforming coupling between conductors in a cable and conductors on a circuit board. The conductors in the cable and the circuit board carry differential signals. The connector is comprised of a dielectric plug that has conductive terminals installed in it which comprise an electrical triad. A dielectric inner body has at least one triplet of three conductive terminals that extend into corresponding slots of the dielectric plug. The dielectric inner body has latching arm slots that receiving a latching arm of a mechanical coupling link member. A protective cover extends over a wire management support member and the dielectric inner body portion and at least partially over the dielectric plug member. The protective cover has retention openings that engage an actuator leg of a latching member. The protective cover also has at least one bias leg recess, for receiving a bias leg of the latching member. A latching member has bias legs that extend into the bias leg passages of the dielectric plug member. The latching member locks the dielectric plug member, the dielectric inner body and the protective cover together.

    摘要: Disclosed is a shielded receptacle assembly mateable with a plug connector having an external metallic shield. The connector assembly includes an insulating receptacle housing having a mating edge with a plug-receiving cavity extending into the housing from the mating edge. An end wall opposes the mating edge and a plurality of sidewalls are joined with the end wall to define plug receiving cavity. Housing terminals are mounted in the receptacle housing for mating with corresponding plug terminals.An integral stamped metallic conductive shield is mounted on the outside of the receptacle housing, and includes reversely bent shield engaging cantilever fingers for mating with the external plug shield. The housing includes outwardly projecting shield mounting studs electrically formed on two opposing sidewalls. Slots formed in corresponding shield sidewalls slidingly receive and engage the studs during assembly of the shield and housing members. Accurate alignment between the shield and housing is provided, while preventing outward bowing of the shield away from the housing sidewalls both before and after mating with a plug assembly.
