摘要: A glassware forming mold that includes a body of heat conductive construction having a central portion with a forming surface for shaping molten glass and a peripheral portion spaced radially outwardly of the central portion. A plurality of coolant passages extend in a spaced array through the peripheral portion of the mold body, and liquid coolant is directed through such passages for extracting heat from the body by conduction from the forming surface. A plurality of openings extend axially into the body radially between at least some of the liquid coolant passages and the forming surface for retarding heat transfer from the forming surface to liquid coolant in the passages.

摘要: A permanent frost protected shallow foundation footing for a building is assembled from a plurality of form parts arranged in a chain that is partially below ground level to form a foundation perimeter. The form parts are made of a lightweight material such as insulating foam material shaped as an elongated sectional unit with an overhang part overhanging a cavity part of an interior cavity. The interior cavity has an opening for receiving a concrete pour concurrent with a concrete pour of a floor. Open ends of the assembled sectional units abut each other in end-to-end alignment to form an elongated cavity inside the perimeter chain of form parts that is filled with concrete. The overhang part may have a foot shape that fits inside the interior cavity of another form part that may also have a foot shape for compact storage or transport prior to assembly.

摘要: The present invention is directed compositions for targeted delivery of RNA interference (RNAi) polynucleotides to hepatocytes in vivo. Targeted RNAi polynucleotides are administered together with co-targeted delivery polymers. Delivery polymers provide membrane penetration function for movement of the RNAi polynucleotides from outside the cell to inside the cell. Reversible modification provides physiological responsiveness to the delivery polymers.

摘要: A neck ring for molding a glass container neck finish that includes at least one closure attachment feature. The neck ring includes two semi-annular bi-metal neck ring halves, each consisting essentially of a neck ring insert of wear-resistant metal construction, and a neck ring body of heat-conductive metal construction different from said wear-resistant metal construction and formed around said neck ring insert so as to embed it in said neck ring body. Each of said neck ring halves has a glass-contacting cavity face that includes a first surface portion formed by said inserts for molding the at least one closure attachment feature on the neck finish, and a second surface portion formed by said bodies for molding portions of the neck finish excluding the at least one closure attachment feature.

摘要: A thermal barrier is formed into a hat-shape by folding sections of an extended length of board formed for assembly and insertion as a barrier to thermal radiation into a space between two joists or studs of a floor, wall, roof, or ceiling of a building for completely covering the space while also covering protruding edges of the joists or studs so as to reduce thermal energy transfer through the joists or studs themselves. A thermal barrier assembly is shown with an outer reflective surface and is also shown for assembly into a form having an inner enclosure for enclosing an inner thermal barrier also having a reflective surface for reducing thermal radiation transfer by reflection and protected from dust by virtue of the enclosure.

摘要: The claimed subject matter relates to architectures and/or mechanisms that can facilitate issuing, embedding and verification of an optical DNA (o-DNA) signature. A first mechanism is provided for obtaining a set of manufacturing errors inherent in an optical media instance. These errors can be encoded into the o-DNA that can be cryptographically signed with a private key, then embedded into the source optical media instance. A second mechanism is provided that can decrypt the o-DNA with a public key and compare the authenticated errors to the observed errors to ascertain whether the optical media instance is authentic as opposed to a forgery or counterfeit.

摘要: A water filter provides good tasting, potable water without chemical biocides. A water filter utilizing activated carbon to rid the water of undesirable chemicals and the like has dolomite added to the activated carbon. The dolomite acts as a nutrient for harmless bacteria and thereby promotes the growth of the harmless bacteria to the exclusion of harmful bacteria. Dolomite produces a slight alkalinity for improved taste, provides magnesium and calcium as dietary supplements, and encourages the growth of bacteria that produce no undesirable metabolites.

摘要: A chuck assembly and collet for retaining a commercially-available large-diameter, high-torque end mill (or similar) tool against axial pullout and against radial (or rotational) movement with respect to the assembly. The tool includes two axially spaced flat surfaces along the shank, one of which is coupled to the collet to prevent axial pullout and the other of which is coupled to the chuck to prevent rotation with respect to the chuck. The coupling to the chuck is accomplished by a ballclamp screw which extends through an aperture in the collet to the flat surface on the tool. The ballclamp screw has a flattened ball that is pivotally mounted in the screw's engagement and the pivotal mounting accommodates a few degrees misalignment between the shank's flat surface and the screw without significantly affecting the coupling therebetween.
