摘要： A method and apparatus for printing an image on a large surface area or walkway provides for imagewise marking of the surface with a color marking solution, to form a visible image on the surface during an image recording mode of a marking engine. The marking engine includes a scanner and the marking engine moves along the surface and operates the scanner to sense a crude image upon the surface and generates data signals representing the crude image or boundaries defined by the crude image scanned. In response to data signals the marking engine is operated to print an enhanced image of the crude image and/or to color the crude image so that the printing overlies the crude image.

摘要： A method of printing a multi-color image on a particular surface, using a digital image file having a discrete number of pixels that collectively represent the multi-color image, comprises: determining a relatively large area of the multi-color image that is represented by less than the total number of pixels, but which pixels each have a common printing color component; forming an outline of the determined relatively large image area on the particular surface the multi-colored image is to be printed; providing a colored receiver layer within the formed outline that is the same color as the common color component, but which color has a selected low color value; applying a non-colored receiver to an area on the particular surface that is outside the formed outline on the particular surface, to provide a non-colored receiver layer on the particular surface in addition to the colored receiver layer on the particular surface; modifying the digital image file by subtracting the selected low color value from the pixels representing the relatively large area, to provide a printing file for printing the multicolor image; and printing the multi-color image on the colored and non-colored receiver layers, using the printing file, to make a print of the multicolor image on the particular surface.

摘要： A method and apparatus for printing an image on a large surface area or walkway provides for imagewise marking of the surface with a color marking solution, to form a visible image on the surface during an image recording mode of a marking engine. A vehicle supports the marking engine and includes a drive that engages the surface at plural locations and moves the marking engine relative to the surface. The marking engine is located outboard of an area defined by lines connecting the plural locations so that during operation of the marking engine during the image recording mode the drive does not engage areas of the surface that have been previously imagewise marked.

摘要： An insertable thermal printer cartridge for insertion into a digital camera or the like includes a housing for receiving a plurality of receivers each of which is adapted to receive colorant, and a donor supply roll for supplying a donor having colorant to a colorant transfer area and a donor take-up spool for receiving donor after colorant has been transferred. The receivers and the donor are respectively moved to the colorant transfer area where colorant is transferred from the donor to the receiver, and the housing including identifying contacts which, after the insertable thermal printer cartridge has been inserted into the device, which provide an electrical connection to identify the type of receiver and donor in the inserted insertable thermal printer cartridge and further defining a cavity for mounting at least one battery which is adapted to provide power for moving the donor and receivers and for supplying power for colorant transfer at the colorant transfer area.

摘要： In a method of making a single image of a scene which is the combined images of different portions of the scene, including providing first and second image capturing structures with the second image capturing structure including a moveable lens; and moving the second lens so that it captures at least one different portion of the scene but which overlaps with a first portion of the scene captured by the first image capture structure, the second image capture structure including an image sensor. The method further determines when the second lens moves across the scene to a desired position and stopping the second lens at the desired position for causing the first and second capture structure to capture overlapping images of different portions of the scene.
