    摘要: Pillared interlayered clay products of increased stability and processes for preparing such clay products are provided. The pillared interlayered clays are prepared by reacting a smectite clay, such as montmorillonite, with an aqueous solution of a polymeric cationic hydroxy metal complex, such as aluminum chlorhydroxide and reacting the resulting product with a stability increasing compound selected from the group consisting of silicon, titanium, phosphorus and antimony halides and ethyl silicates.

    摘要: A process for catalytic cracking using a catalyst obtained by preparing pillared interlayered clay materials comprises the steps of contacting a smectite containing material, preferably bentonite, with a solution comprising at least one of ammonium and alkali metal carboxylates and alkali metal carbonates and bicarbonates, plus preferably also alkali metal dithionite; separating the thus-contacted material from the solution; treating the separated material with a solution comprising a polymeric cationic hydroxy metal complex, preferably of aluminum (more preferably, polymeric hydroxy aluminum chloride); separating and finally heating the thus-treated smectite material. The pillared interlayered clay material of this invention can be intimately admixed with zeolite. The pillared interlayered clay material of this invention, with or without zeolite, can be used as catalyst for cracking hydrocarbon-containing oils.

    摘要: Pillared clay based high activity olefin polymerization catalysts, methods of producing the catalysts and methods of using the catalysts in the polymerization of olefins are provided. The methods of producing the catalysts each basically comprise contacting a pillared clay with the soluble complex produced by heating a mixture of a metal dihalide with a transition metal compound to produce a solid, and then reacting the solid with an organoaluminum halide. The process produces catalyst components shaped like dipyramidal or generally "football"-shaped crystals.

    摘要: Metals, nitrogen and/or sulfur, particularly vanadium, nickel and nitrogen, are removed from organic compositions, particularly heavy hydrocarbon oils, by contacting the organic composition with a methylating agent, preferably dimethyl sulfate, under conditions sufficient to form a precipitate, including the contaminants, and separating the precipitate from the organic composition as by filtration, decantation, and the like. In another embodiment of the present invention, the treatment with the methylating agent is carried out in conjunction with treatment with an acid gas and water or a solvent, such as a combination of carbon dioxide and water.
