摘要： An apparatus and method are disclosed for applying a surgical clip to an exterior wall of a blood vessel to at least partially close a hole formed therein. The apparatus includes a handle portion, an elongated body extending distally from the handle portion and dimensioned to extend through a hole in the wall of a blood vessel, and a collapsible locator associated with a distal end portion of the elongated body and mounted for movement between a collapsed position and an expanded deployed position. The locator is adapted to expand within an interior lumen of the blood vessel to maintain the distal end portion of the elongated body in a desired location with respect to the hole in blood vessel wall such that a surgical clip releasably supported adjacent the distal end portion of the elongated body can be applied to the exterior wall of the blood vessel to close the hole formed therein.

摘要： A tissue retaining ring for use with a plurality of surgical fasteners mounted within a disposable loading unit utilized during a vascular anastomosis inlcudes a genrally circular, semi-pliable material having a series of alternating loops and arcuate portions. Each of the loops defines an aperture therein which is dimensioned to receive a distal end of one of the plurality of surgical fasteners. When the instrument is fired, the surgical fasteners are simultaneously deformed through the tissue ring and through the tissue. The tissue retaining ring holds the tissue in place along the surgical fastener and reduces the chances of tissue slippage after deformation.

摘要： A graft attachment assembly that may be easily and quickly assembled is provided. The graft attachment assembly includes an attachment member including a base portion having a convex top surface and a branch portion having a passageway therethrough. The branch portion projects outwardly from the base portion. A clamp member having a concave bottom surface is configured to sealingly engage the top surface of the base portion and an opening is dimensioned to slidably receive the branch portion. The clamp member is slidable about the branch portion to a position adjacent the base portion to clamp tissue therebetween. A locking member is slidable about the branch portion and dimensioned to secure a vessel thereabout.

摘要： A method and apparatus for elevating, approximating and/or restraining internal organs or structures, and more particularly for treating female urinary stress incontinence is provided. The invention includes an anchoring device having an elongated suture with an anchor at each end thereof and a cinching member therebetween for adjusting the length of the suture, an apparatus for applying the anchoring device, and an apparatus for drawing the suture relative to the cinching member after it has been emplaced. The method involves securing a first anchor to a first structure, such as the vaginal wall, securing a second anchor to a second structure, such as Cooper's ligament, and drawing the suture relative to the cinching member to approximate the first and second anchors, and thereby move the first structure and the second structure into juxtaposition so as to approximate them.

摘要： A surgical instrument for anastomosis of first and second blood vessels is provided having a handle and a body portion extending distally from the handle. A fastener support is mounted adjacent a distal end portion of the body portion. A plurality of surgical fasteners are releasably supported by the fastener support at the distal end thereof. The surgical fasteners each have a leg with an atraumatic tip. A fastener camming member is mounted adjacent the fastener support. The fastener camming member and fastener support are relatively slidable in response to actuation of the handle to simultaneously deform the surgical fasteners to secure the first and second vessels without piercing the vessels.

The surgical instrument may include an end effector component configured to move from a first position to a second position and the controller may be operatively coupled to control movement of the end effector component. The controller may further be configured to command the end effector component to move from the first position toward the second position, and automatically oscillate the end effector component if the controller has not received a signal indicating the end effector has reached a preset location within a predetermined time period after the controller commands the end effector component to move from the first position toward the second position.

At least one of the two end effectors is a moveable end effector having a jaw portion, an off-center portion, and a base portion. The cam mechanism is coupled to the base portion of the at least one moveable end effector to pivot it about the fastener to open and close the jaw portion of the at least one moveable end effector with respect to the other.
