    摘要: A method of making high performance friction materials with tailored levels of a ceramic hard phase to achieve optimum thermal conductivity, friction coefficient and wear performance of composite brake materials. In accordance with one method of the invention specific end-use application friction requirements are satisfied by tailoring the level of carbon in a selected carbon/carbon preform, heat treating the carbon/carbon composite preform, thereby affecting thermal conductivity so as to optimize overall braking performance prior to ceramic processing and by selecting an optimum level of ceramic hard phase to achieve satisfactory friction disc wear life and friction characteristics of the braking material.

    摘要: A transporter for red hot steel ingots has two pairs of jaws horizontally movable relative to each other along a carrier bar. A hanger pivotally mounted on one jaw and carrying a gripper pad may be swung toward the other jaw by a separate clamping drive. The momentum exerted on the jaws by the engaged ingot causes sufficient angular displacement of the jaws to tilt them into jamming engagement with the carrier bar, thereby blocking longitudinal jaw movement on the bar.

    摘要: A latch for a top of an automobile has a housing mounted on the top with a movable latching hook cooperating with a link mounted on the windshield frame. The latching hook is displaceable by an actuating device from a closed position into an open position. To produce a latch which forms a compact module, takes up little space in the transverse vehicle direction, and whose latching hook is movable by a motor, the motorized actuating device for the latching hook has a drive motor aligned approximately parallel to the lengthwise direction of the latching hook. The motor is in an operating relationship through a transverse transmission element and a downstream transmission with a drive lever to move the latching hook.
