摘要: A diaphragm for an electroacoustic transducer has a) a core layer containing poly(meth)acrylimide foam and b) at least one cover layer. The diaphragm is produced by laminating the cover layer with the core layer, using a pressure of 0.4 MPa and a temperature of 160° C., whereby at least the side of the core layer which comes into contact with the cover layer is compressed. The resultant composite is subsequently cooled to a temperature below 80° C., before the pressure is reduced to the ambient pressure. The process can be carried out as a single-step process. The diaphragms produced by this process demonstrate an excellent stability, whereby the cover layers in particular are highly resistant to separation.

摘要: A tape for enclosing and sealing an object, such as a cable splice, includes both a gel layer and a rubber layer. Due to the elastic properties of the rubber layer, the gel can be put under compression, which may result in an excellent sealing action. Advantageously the rubber layer may be wider than the gel layer, which may allow adhesive strips to be accommodated adjacent the gel so as to facilitate the application of the tape and to further improve its sealing action.

摘要: A seal is provided for sealing an aperture in an object through which aperture one or more elongate articles extends. The seal includes a first support member having at least one longitudinally extending channel adapted to accommodate and support an elongate article. A second support member is longitudinally spaced from the first support member. The second support member has at least one longitudinally extending channel corresponding to that of the first support member and a sealing member is positioned between the first and second support members. An elongate article may thus be accommodated within the longitudinal extending channel of the first support member so as to extend through the corresponding channel on the second support member while deforming sealing member.

摘要: Articles and methods are provided for sealing a closure having an opening through which more than one elongate article may project. A body is provided having a plurality of axially extending radially projecting ribs defining, between circumferentially adjacent pairs thereof, locations for receiving one or more of the elongate articles. The body includes longitudinally adjacent parts of resilient material and sealant material.

摘要: An airbag arrangement comprising: an airbag; a housing (1), formed of plastics material, for containing the airbag in a deflated, folded condition; a cover (5), formed of flexible material, and attached to the airbag housing (1) by a seal around a substantial portion of the periphery of the housing (1). The seal may be by heat or pressure sensitive glue, by ultrasonic or vibration welding or by deformable lugs (9). This arrangement is cheaper to produce and quicker to assemble, and has the advantage of being generally tamper-proof, since any tampering with the package will be immediately evident from detachment of the cover or tears therein.

摘要: Methods for providing a cable closure enclosing a cable splice include wrapping a flexible wrap including a gel layer and a flexible support layer around the cable splice with the gel layer adjacent the cable splice. The gel layer may have an adhesion-reducing substance applied on at least part of a surface of the gel layer facing away from the flexible support layer and a removable cover layer may be applied to a surface of the gel layer facing away from the flexible support layer on which the adhesion-reducing substance is not applied. The wrap is gathered into overlapping wrinkles around at least one longitudinal end of the cable splice without applying heat, other external energy source or catalytic agent to allow the gel layer to seal the at least one longitudinal end of the cable splice.

摘要: A flexible wrap (10) for enclosing a cable splice (20) without external heating includes a gel layer (1) and a support layer (2). The wrap has sufficient flexibility to be manually gathered into wrinkles around the smaller parts of the cable-to-splice transition with the gel sealing the resulting enclosure. The support layer (2), which is preferably made of low density polyethylene, provides mechanical strength and facilitates the application of the wrap (10). A vapour barrier layer (3), preferably made of aluminium, may be applied on the support layer (2). A protective layer (4) may be applied on the vapour barrier layer (3). An adhesion-reducing substance (6) may be applied on at least part of the side of the gel layer (1) facing away from the support layer (2) to allow adjustment of the wrap (10) when applied on the cable splice (20). Elastic or rubber tape (11) maybe wound around the applied wrap (10) to compress the gel. A re-enterable closure having a long sealing length may be obtained.
