    摘要: An instrument for delivering a suture transfascially may include a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and at least one needle that is moveable to an extended position beyond the end of the shaft. A suture may be delivered transfascially with the instrument. The instrument may include a suture catch associated with each needle for retaining and releasing a suture segment. A shield may be provided to shield the sharp end of each needle when it is moved to the extended position. A method of delivering a transfascial suture may include inserting an instrument into an abdominal cavity and deploying, from within the abdominal cavity, each needle through a soft tissue repair patch and then through at least part of the abdominal wall. A suture or suture segment may be advanced across the fascia with the at least one needle.

    摘要: A hemodialysis catheter is provided which includes a catheter body having a proximal and a distal end and defining at least one lumen. The at least one lumen includes a distal opening and a side opening formed through a sidewall of the catheter body. The side opening communicates with the at least one lumen, and includes guiding structure positioned adjacent a distal side of the side opening configured to smoothly redirect blood flow into the at least one lumen. The guiding structure may be defined by a raised wall, or in the alternative, an angled distal wall of the side opening.

    摘要: A system for subatmospheric pressure therapy in connection with healing a surgical wound includes a wound dressing dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed of a subject, a subatmospheric pressure mechanism having a vacuum source for presenting subatmospheric pressure at the wound bed and a collection canister. The collection canister includes a canister housing defining an internal chamber for collecting exudates from the wound bed removed under subatmospheric pressure, an inlet to receive the exudates for depositing in the internal chamber, an outlet in fluid communication with the vacuum source and a valve mounted adjacent the inlet. The valve is adapted to open in the presence of a vacuum condition within the internal chamber to permit the exudates to flow therethrough and to close in the absence of a vacuum condition within the internal chamber. The valve reduces the amount of exudates leakage, and eliminates the need for the use of clamping or the like to clamp about the system tubing. The collection canister may include a valve housing at least partially disposed within the internal chamber of the canister housing. The valve housing defines a valve seat having an opening in fluid communication with the inlet. The valve is mounted to the valve seat adjacent the opening and movable relative to the valve seat between a closed position occluding the opening of the valve seat and an open position at least partially exposing the opening in the valve housing. The valve may be a zero closure valve such an umbrella valve.
