    摘要: An electrodepositable composition is provided comprising (a) an active hydrogen-containing, cationic salt group-containing resin electrodepositable on a cathode; (b) a capped polyisocyanate curing agent; and (c) a diorganotin dicarboxylate; wherein the dicarboxylate is at least one long chain carboxylate having from 14 to 22 carbon atoms and the diorganotin dicarboxylate is present in the electrodepositable composition in an amount of at least 0.01 percent by weight tin based on weight of total solids of the electrodepositable composition. The composition provides improved storage stability without precipitation of dibutyltin oxide, and when electrodeposited over conductive substrates, there is no loss of cure response and appearance properties.

    摘要: An electrodepositable composition is provided comprising: (a) active hydrogen-containing, cationic salt group-containing resin electrodepositable on a cathode; (b) at least one at least partially capped polyisocyanate curing agent; (c) at least one metal-containing catalyst; and (d) at least one material having the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is alkyl or substituted alkyl having 1 to 18 carbon atoms or aryl or substituted aryl; and R.sub.2 is hydrogen, alkyl or substituted alkyl having 1 to 18 carbon atoms or aryl or substituted aryl. The composition can demonstrate enhanced corrosion resistance at low metal catalyst levels without loss of cured film properties or appearance when electrodeposited and cured over conductive substrates.

    摘要: Provided is an electrodepositable coating composition of a resinous phase dispersed in an aqueous medium, the resinous phase including (a) an active hydrogen-containing, cationic salt group-containing resin; and (b) an at least partially blocked polyisocyanate curing agent. The composition contains an organotin catalyst which is or is derived from a dialkyltin compound having the structure (I): [R1][R2]—Sn═O  (I) where R1 and R2 are the same or different, and each independently represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group wherein the sum of the carbon atoms in R1 and R2 is greater than 8. The catalyst is present in an amount sufficient to effect cure at a temperature at or below 340° F. (171.1° C.). Methods of preparing and using the composition also are provided.
