    摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed to fabricate a restorative prosthesis. The system includes a scanner to intra orally capture color and translucency information along with a three dimensional (3D) shape of the dentition being reconstructed. The system also includes a computer aided design (CAD) module to receive the color and translucency information and the 3D shape to render a color accurate representation of the prosthesis for review, wherein the color, translucency and surface information is combined in a single digital prescription which is electronically transferred to a laboratory or CAD/CAM system for fabrication. The system provides the capability for 3D shape, color and translucency characteristics of the final prosthesis to be measured and quantitatively compared to the prescribed requirements.

    摘要: Wavefront measuring systems and methods are disclosed which may be employed, for example, in detecting phase aberrations in a spectacle lens and in an eye. Various embodiments include disposing a modulation pattern in the path of a return beam from the spectacle lens or the eye, and imaging a diffraction pattern at a self-imaging plane relative to the modulation pattern with a detector. The diffraction pattern is analyzed and the results are used to produce a representation of the wavefront phase characteristics that describe aberrations in the lens or eye being measured. Illumination and processing techniques for improving the measurement results are disclosed. Various embodiments comprise systems adaptable to both measure aberrations in lenses in spectacles as well as in a patient's eyes.

The instrument can also include a wavefront sensor disposed on a translation stage, the wavefront sensor having an optical path to an imaging sensor, the translation stage being movable to position the optical path of the wavefront sensor in alignment with the portion of the left visual path in a first state and in alignment with the portion of the right visual path in a second state. One or more light sources are optionally provided for propagating light along a least part of the left and right visual paths to illuminate the left and right eyes.

    摘要: A biomagnetometer comprises an array of biomagnetic sensors, the array comprising a first plurality of magnetic field pickup coils, and a second plurality of detectors, each of which receives a pickup coil output from a pickup coil. There is a third plurality of signal processors, each of which receives an output from a detector, the third plurality of signal processors being fewer in number than the first plurality of pickup coils. The biomagnetometer further includes a selector that selects a subset of pickup coils, equal in number to the third plurality of signal processors, from the first plurality of pickup coils for signal processing by the signal processors. This biomagnetometer permits the placement of a very large array of relatively inexpensive pickup coils adjacent to a subject, and then processing information from subsets of that large array selected to optimize the gathering of data, while maintaining the cost of the signal processing electronics at a more economical level.
