Abstract:
A wireless access point servicing multiple clients can have access to sensors that can be used to determine which clients have users present and potentially who those users are. Using this information, the wireless access point can automatically adjust the wireless network as appropriate in order to provide the optimal system performance.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for placeshifting data. An exemplary method of transmitting data from a source device to a destination device over a first communications channel involves identifying interference with transmission of the data from the source device to the destination device and initiating operation of a third device on a second communications channel after identifying the interference, wherein the operation of the third device is configured to mitigate the interference with the data transmission over the first communications channel.
Abstract:
Methods and systems to evaluate the ambient light in a local viewing environment where video content is being displayed, and to make adjustments to the ambient light, video display device, and/or video content to cause the perception of the color and brightness of the video content to the viewer to be true to what the video content producer intended the viewer to perceive.
Abstract:
Various embodiments reduce disruptions in recorded programming, by automatically recording retransmissions of prior programming. In one embodiment, a recording manager is provided for execution on a receiving device, such as a set-top box. The recording manager detects a disruption in a recorded program. In response, the recording manager automatically records, or schedules a recording of, a later transmission of the same program. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Abstract:
Various audiovisual presentation arrangements are described. In some embodiments, a headset is configured to output audio to a user. A television receiver may be configured to output a plurality of video feeds for simultaneous presentation by a display device. Each video feed of the plurality of video feeds may be displayed in a different display region of the display device. The television receiver may receive a command indicative of a video feed of the plurality of videos feeds that the user is viewing on the display device. Based on the command, the television receiver may output, to the headset, an audio feed that corresponds to the video feed the user is viewing.

Abstract:
A system includes a server configured to monitor wireless interference between at least two media content delivery devices. The server coordinates communication with the media content delivery devices to reduce wireless interference, and the communication is coordinated according to requirements of media content requests received from the media content delivery devices. A method includes monitoring wireless interference between at least two media content delivery devices and coordinating communication with the media content delivery devices to reduce wireless interference.
Abstract:
An antenna assembly includes a substrate, a first antenna having a first, second, third, fourth sections, which have different configuration respectively, and a first transmission cable, a second antenna having a fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth sections, which have different configuration respectively, and a second transmission cable. The first and fifth sections extend vertically from a surface of the substrate respectively. The second, third and fourth sections extend in parallel with the first section and extend from its next section. The sixth, seventh, eighth sections extend in parallel with the fifth section and extend from its next section. The first and second transmission cables physically and electrically are connected to the first and second antenna respectively. The second antenna is spaced away from the first antenna a selected distance. The first antenna is arranged having each of its sections extending perpendicular to each of its sections of the second antenna.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to determining when a user has fallen asleep and adjusting electronics based on that determination. Example methods and systems of the disclosure include receiving, at a sensor of a home automation system, characteristic data, wherein the characteristic data indicates one or more observed characteristics of a user of a home security system, wherein the home security system is connected to the home automation system, analyzing the characteristic data to determine a state of the user, determining, using the characteristic data, that the user has fallen asleep, and transmitting a communication to the home security system, wherein the communication includes a command to activate the home security system.
