    Abstract: An X-ray generation apparatus includes an electron gun configured to emit an electron beam, a rotary anode unit having a target generating an X-ray by receiving the electron beam and configured to rotate the target, a magnetic lens having a coil configured to generate a magnetic force acting on the electron beam between the electron gun and the target, and a wall portion disposed between the target and the coil so as to face the target. The wall portion is formed with an electron passage hole through which the electron beam passes and a flow path configured to allow a coolant to flow.

    Abstract: A rotary anode unit includes a target formed of a first metal material and a target support body formed of a second metal material, formed in a flat plate shape, and having first and second surfaces. A thermal conductivity of the second metal material is higher than a thermal conductivity of the first metal material. A first recessed portion is formed in the first surface at the outer part of the target support body. The target is disposed in the first recessed portion. A second recessed portion configured to define a flow path for allowing a coolant to flow is formed in the second surface at the inner part of the target support body. A thickness of a first region where the first recessed portion is formed is larger than a thickness of a second region where the second recessed portion is formed.

    Abstract: An X-ray generation apparatus includes an electron gun emitting an electron beam having a circular cross-sectional shape, a magnetic focusing lens located downstream of the electron gun and focusing the electron beam while rotating the electron beam around an axis along a first direction, a magnetic quadrupole lens located downstream of the magnetic focusing lens and deforming the cross-sectional shape of the electron beam into an elliptical shape having a major axis along a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and a minor axis along a third direction orthogonal to the first direction and the second direction, and a target located downstream of the magnetic quadrupole lens and emitting an X-ray in response to incidence of the electron beam.

    Abstract: An electron beam generator includes a cathode having a distal end portion emitting an electron beam, a first electrode accommodating the distal end portion, and a second electrode surrounding the first electrode when viewed from a direction along an emission axis of the electron beam. The first electrode has a first side wall surrounding the distal end portion. The second electrode has a second side wall separated from the first side wall and surrounding the first side wall. The first side wall is provided with a first opening portion allowing a first space surrounded by the first side wall and a second space between the first side wall and the second side wall to communicate with each other. The second electrode is provided with a second opening portion opening in the direction along the emission axis such that the second space and an external space communicate with each other.

    Abstract: An X-ray generation device is provided with an electron gun unit for emitting an electron beam, and a target unit having a substrate comprised of diamond, and a target body comprised of a material for generating X-rays with incidence of the electron beam thereto and buried in close contact in the substrate. An outer diameter of the target body is in the range of 0.05 to 1 μm. An outer diameter of an irradiation field of the electron beam on the target unit is in the range of 1.1 to 2.5 times the outer diameter of the target body. The X-ray generation device irradiates the target body with the electron beam so that the target body is included in the irradiation field, thereby to generate X-rays from the target body.

    Abstract: An X-ray generation apparatus includes an electron gun having a cathode emitting an electron beam, a first housing accommodating the electron gun, a target on which the electron beam emitted from the electron gun is incident, a second housing accommodating the target, and an electron passage extending between the first housing and the second housing and configured to transfer the electron beam from a first internal space of the first housing to a second internal space of the second housing. The electron passage includes a diameter-reduced end portion decreasing in diameter toward the target. The first housing is provided with a first exhaust flow path for evacuating the first internal space in the first housing. The second housing is provided with a second exhaust flow path for evacuating the second internal space in the second housing.

    Abstract: An X-ray tube includes a vacuum housing, an electron gun, and an anode that includes a target emitting X-rays and a target supporting portion supporting the target. The target supporting portion has an anode main body portion and a protrusion portion including a side surface portion. The anode main body portion includes an outer circumferential surface extending in a direction of a tube axis, and a connection portion formed between the side surface portion of the protrusion portion and the outer circumferential surface. An angle formed by the outer circumferential surface and the connection portion is an obtuse angle.
