    摘要: A rupturable closure for use with a flexible container that is especially suited for pouring viscous fluids such as motor oil. The closure is secured to the pouring spout or other dispensing opening of the container and retains the viscous fluid in the container as the container is brought into inverted position for pouring. Notwithstanding the ability of the closure to hold in the viscous fluid, the closure also allows the closure to breathe when the cap is removed so as to relieve small variations in pressure as the flexible container is first grasped for pouring and thereby prevent premature rupture of the closure before or as the container is inverted for pouring. Such a closure includes a membrane secured over the dispensing opening of the container. The membrane has a small primary vent orifice in the region over the dispensing opening that is sized to permit the membrane to breathe. The membrane also has three or more part lines terminating in the primary vent orifice along which the membrane parts when the flexible bottle is squeezed. The part lines extend outward from the vent orifice substantially to the periphery of the dispensing opening. Each of the part lines is interrupted by a small connecting element across the line proximate to the primary vent orifice. The primary vent orifice and the connecting elements are of a size, and the connecting elements are positioned sufficiently close to the primary vent orifice, such that the membrane will contain the viscous fluid within the container when the container is brought into inverted position for pouring, yet the connecting elements will break away and the membrane will separate along the part lines when the flexible container is squeezed, thereby enabling the viscous fluid to flow through the dispensing opening.

    摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus for cooling particulates are provided. The apparatus can include one or more coils at least partially disposed within a cylindrical housing. The one or more coils can include a plurality of tubulars connected by return bends disposed at one or more ends thereof. The apparatus can further include a support grid at least partially disposed within the housing and secured to one or more inner surfaces of one or more sidewalls thereof. The support grid can include a plurality of cross members formed of a series of concentric cylinders connected together by a plurality of radially disposed gussets. An outermost concentric cylinder can be disposed proximate the one or more inner surfaces of the one or more sidewalls, and at least one of the one or more coils can be secured to at least one of the cross members, at least one of the gussets, or both. The support grid can also include one or more beams having a first end and a second end fastened to different points on the one or more inner surfaces of the one or more sidewalls. The cross members can be disposed on at least one of the one or more beams.

    摘要: A thermal transition section for introducing a high temperature cracked process gas into a quench exchanger having an inlet end comprising inner and outer concentric pipes connected to a closure ring to define an annulus between the pipes and an interior exchanger surface having an inside diameter. The transition section has a metal outer wall extending from a downstream end connected to the closure ring to an upstream end connected to a metal transition cone. The transition cone is connected at an upstream end to a line for supplying the process gas. The downstream end of the inner sleeve has an outside diameter matching the inside diameter of the interior exchanger surface. A precast, pre-fired single-piece ceramic insert substantially fills the annulus between the outer wall and inner sleeve. By using the ceramic insert, particularly a relatively long insert, thermal stresses are reduced and coke formation in the annulus is inhibited.
