摘要: A CATV center facility transmits, together with the television signals of a plurality of programs, display control data indicating program names and selection numbers of the respective programs and channel data indicating the numbers of channels on which the respective programs are being broadcast or to be broadcast. A terminal apparatus detects the program names, selection numbers and channel numbers from the display control data and the channel data, and makes a TV receiver display the detected program names and selection numbers in an associated manner. While looking at a picture thus displayed, a user selects a desired program by pushing a corresponding numeral button of a remote controller or a keyboard. In response to the program selection by the user, the terminal apparatus is tuned to the channel of the selected program.

摘要: An optical isolator having a constitution in which a Faraday rotator is sandwiched by two polarizers, which can be more easily produced at a reduced cost. An optical isolator is constituted so that it comprises the following constituent elements in the described order: a first reflection-type polarizer made of a polymeric multilayer film; a Faraday rotator capable of rotating the polarizing. plane by 45 degrees; a tapered glass plate; and a second reflection-type polarizer made of a polymeric multi-layer film.

摘要: A driving apparatus for a DC circuit breaker of reverse current insertion type. The driving apparatus includes a magnetic repulsive coil for instantaneously driving a movable electrode of a vacuum valve directly in an opening direction, and a first coil of capacitor energization type and a second coil for voltage tripping purposes as trip coils for an operating mechanism connected to the movable electrode through a contact spring whereby the magnetic repulsive coil and the first trip coil are respectively energized by capacitors in the case of tripping under faulty conditions and only the second trip coil is energized in the case of tripping under other conditions than faulty conditions. By thus providing the high-speed tripping first coil for the tripping under faulty conditions and the low-speed tripping second coil for the tripping under other conditions than faulty conditions separately to be independent of each other, a mechanical trip-free mechanism is provided thus minimizing the opening stroke due to the magnetic repulsive coil, increasing the life of the vacuum valve and the operating mechanism and enhancing the reliability of the driving apparatus.

摘要: The present invention utilizes jet streams of hot gas at a high efficiency and thereby to increase a bulk of non-woven fabric. Non-woven fabric containing thermoplastic synthetic fibers is subjected to jet streams of hot gas in a thickness direction of the non-woven fabric. A temperature of the jet streams of hot gas used for this process is set to a level lower than the temperature at which a resinous ingredient forming the surface of the thermoplastic begins to be melted. The jet streams of hot gas are directed to penetrate fiber interstices in the non-woven fabric and then to strike on a means serving to divert the jet streams of hot gas.

摘要: Fluid absorbent fibers are accumulated in a form die without being interfered by a polymer charging member for charging a superabsorbent polymer. There is provided an apparatus for manufacturing an absorbent body in which while a form die is moved in one direction along a predetermined moving path, fluid absorbent fibers are distributed toward the form die and accumulated in the form die, whereby the absorbent body is formed. A polymer charging member for charging superabsorbent polymer into the form die is disposed to intersect at least a part of a distribution path of the fluid absorbent fibers, and a space through which the fluid absorbent fibers are allowed to pass along the distribution path is formed in the polymer charging member.

摘要: A method for preparing a divalent-europium-activated calcium sulfide phosphor comprising reacting a molten mixture consisting essentially of alkaline-earth-metal chloride and europium chloride with gaseous carbon disulfide at temperatures between 850.degree. and 1200.degree. C. for 1 to 6 hours. The molten mixture may include activator proportions of cerium and/or alkali metal cations. Minor proportions of calcium may be replaced with one or more other alkaline-earth-metal cations.

摘要: A thrust control valve includes a nozzle having a gas supply chamber, a gas jetting chamber and a connecting passage therebetween. The nozzle has an upstream inner surface defining the gas supply chamber and a downstream inner surface defining the gas jetting chamber. The valve also includes a plug axially movably inserted into the gas supply chamber, the connecting passage and the gas jetting chamber. The plug has an upstream outer surface facing the upstream inner surface to define an upstream passage and a downstream outer surface facing the downstream inner surface to define a downstream passage. The plug can control thrust by simultaneously changing sectional areas of the upstream and downstream passages by an axial movement of the plug.
