    摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a feedback encoder, a feedback decoder and methods of operating the same. The feedback encoder, for use with user equipment, includes an encoding module configured to provide a rank indicator that is separately reportable from a related selection of at least one of a channel quality indicator and a preceding matrix indicator for the user equipment. The feedback encoder also includes a transmit module configured to transmit the rank indicator and the related selection. The feedback decoder, for use with a base station, includes a receive module configured to receive a rank indicator that is separately reportable from a related selection of at least one of a channel quality indicator and a preceding matrix indicator for user equipment. The feedback decoder also includes a decoding module configured to decode the rank indicator and the related selection for the base station.

    摘要: A transmitter is for use with multiple transmit antennas and includes a precoder unit configured to precode data for a transmission using a precoding matrix selected from a codebook, wherein the codebook corresponds to the following three transmission properties for an uplink transmission: 1) all precoding elements from the precoding matrix have a same magnitude, 2) each precoding element from the precoding matrix is taken from a set of finite values and 3) there is only one non-zero element in any row of the precoding matrix. The transmitter also includes a transmit unit configured to transmit the precoded data.

    摘要: This invention is a method of downlink, multiuser, multiple input, multiple output communication between a single base station and plural user equipment. Resource buffers are distributed into sub-bands. Each user equipment is assigned to a sub-band with at least one sub-band assigned plural user equipment. The base station transmits user equipment according to assigned sub-bands. A single user equipment may be assigned one sub-band while plural user equipment are assigned to another sub-band. In one embodiment the base station has N transmit antennas. N user equipment is assigned to a first sub-band and less than N user equipment is assigned to a second sub-band. In another embodiment a first second user equipment is assigned a first sub-band and the first and a third user equipment are assigned to a second sub-band.

Such interference is disadvantageous because it may eliminate wideband channel quality indicator reporting or eliminate each first bandwidth part of subband channel quality indicator reporting. Proper selection of the rank indicator reporting periodicity and offset relative to the wideband and subband channel quality indicator reporting periodicity prevents this interference.
