摘要: The disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for securing an item in a vehicle. An example method can include a processor receiving a primary trigger to unlock a gate of the vehicle, followed by unlocking of the gate to allow access to a cargo compartment. A secondary trigger may then be received for unlocking a security lock that is a part of a cargo item holder located in the cargo compartment. The processor may perform an authentication procedure upon the secondary trigger and unlock the security lock, based on a successful authentication of the secondary trigger. In an example implementation, the cargo item holder is a gun rack that includes a security lock, the primary trigger can be a signal produced by activating a pushbutton switch, and the secondary trigger can be a spoken command, a signal generated by a smart tag, or an image of an individual.

摘要: An electrical system of a vehicle includes a first battery, a second battery, a first switch electrically connected in series between the first battery and the second battery, an external connection point, and a second switch electrically connected in series between the second battery and the external connection point. The system and a method of operating the system include determining that the first battery will need assistance to start an engine of the vehicle, opening the second switch in response to a state of charge of the second battery decreasing below a charge threshold, and closing the first switch for the second battery to assist the first battery to crank the engine for starting.

摘要: The disclosed systems and methods monitor power distribution systems for autonomous and drive-by-wire vehicles. The system can monitor input voltage, current, and other power signals, and reporting the input voltages and currents to a diagnostic engine control unit (ECU). The ECU compares the power signals with real-time (or substantially real-time) waveforms associated with vibrations, acceleration, road bumps, and other phenomena normally encountered in on-road operation, and evaluates any determined correlation between inertial events (e.g., bumps or acceleration, etc.) and changes in the power signals. If the diagnostic ECU determines a correlation between the inertial waveform, the diagnostic ECU map perform mitigating steps, such as issuing a vehicle health warning, generate instructions that cause the vehicle to navigate to a service center, or perform other mitigating actions.

VEHICULAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHARING PRIMARY POWER WITH UPFIT EQUIPMENT

摘要: A motor vehicle electrical distribution system includes an upfitter power supply subsystem with overcurrent protection for tripping (opening) a solid-state relay when current drawn from a main electrical source by the upfitter subsystem impacts other priority electrical loads of the vehicle. Warnings/alerts are generated to inform the user (e.g., driver) of the tripping events, which may include real-time graphing of a recent history of events. In order to restore power to the upfitter subsystem, a voltage supplied by a supplemental battery (i.e., vehicle start-up battery) to the upfitter subsystem is monitored. If the voltage stabilizes then a voltage from the main electrical source is intentionally dropped to the stabilized value and the solid-state relay is re-closed. Then the main voltage is ramped back up to its nominal value. An automatic reset time may be added to delay the reclosing if the solid-state relay has been operated excessively.

摘要: A method and an apparatus, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a high voltage battery pack comprised of a least a first module comprised of a plurality of first battery cells, a second module comprised of a plurality of second battery cells, and a third module comprised of a plurality of third battery cells. A first passive battery management system monitors and balances the plurality of first battery cells, a second passive battery management system monitors and balances the plurality of second battery cells, and a third passive battery management system monitors and balances the plurality of third battery cells. A pack manager measures a voltage of each of the first, second, and third modules, compares measured voltages of the first, second, and third modules, and actively balances a lower charged module from the first, second, and third modules with energy from a higher charged module of the first, second, and third modules.
