Abstract: The disclosure relates to a brake disk and a method for producing a brake disk. The method may include roughening at least some area(s) of a surface of the main body, forming a metal coating on at least some area(s) of the roughened region of the surface of the main body, applying an enamel slip to at least some area(s) of the surface of the main body, drying the applied enamel slip, and heating the main body to form the enamel coating and to join the metal coating metallurgically to the main body. The brake disk may include a main body having an enamel coating arranged at least in some area(s). A metal coating may additionally be formed on the surface of the main body, at least in some area(s), wherein the metal coating is joined metallurgically to the main body.

Abstract: A brake disk for a wheel brake of a land vehicle includes a main body formed from gray cast iron. The main body has at least one axial friction side, at least one anti-corrosion layer applied to the axial friction side, and at least one anti-abrasion layer applied to the anti-corrosion layer. The anti-corrosion layer is a duplex steel layer that provides a cost-effective coating for the brake disk and enables improved corrosion resistance. The anti-abrasion layer is wear resistant and is provided by a SiC material containing at least one oxidic or metallic binder, or by an iron-based alloy having a vanadium carbide reinforcement, a niobium carbide reinforcement, a boron carbide reinforcement, a chromium carbide reinforcement or combinations thereof.

Abstract: A braking apparatus for a vehicle including a wheel suspension part attached to a body of the vehicle and a wheel hub attached to the wheel suspension part. An attached air-cooled brake disk rotates relative to the wheel suspension part. A protective cover arranged on a side of the brake disk that at least partially covers the brake disk. The protective cover fastened in a stationary manner to the wheel suspension part. The protective cover including an air flow opening feeding cooling air to the brake disk. An airflow control mechanism opens and closes the air flow opening along with reducing and increasing a gap between a radial end side of the brake disk and an inner side of a wheel rim of a vehicle wheel.

Abstract: A method is provided for producing a brake disk for a vehicle. For this purpose, a protective layer that has an oxide layer is arranged on a base body of the brake disk. According to the invention, the method comprises the following steps: providing a base body, preferably of iron, in particular of cast iron; applying a metallic coating, at least in certain regions, to a surface of the base body; creating a metallic connection between the metallic coating and the surface of the base body; forming the oxide layer on the metallic coating that is metallically connected to the surface of the base body.
