Abstract:
Disclosed is a system including a substrate having a first side and a second side and a layer of photoacoustic material disposed on the first side of the substrate. The layer of photoacoustic material is configured to generate a directional ultrasound wave in response to a laser beam impinging on the layer. A conduit may be coupled to the housing and have an opening adjacent to the layer of photoacoustic material; the directional ultrasound wave may be directed through fluid that is contained in the conduct to generate a liquid jet in a liquid.
Abstract:
A driving circuit for controlling power of a light-emitting diode (LED) light source includes a transformer, a switch controller, and a dimming controller. The transformer has a primary winding that receives input power from an AC/DC converter and a secondary winding that provides output power to the LED light source. The switch controller coupled between an optical coupler and the primary winding receives a feedback signal indicative of a target level of a current flowing through the LED light source from the optical coupler, and controls input power to the primary winding according to the feedback signal. The dimming controller coupled to the secondary winding receives a switch monitoring signal indicative of an operation of a power switch coupled between an AC power source and the AC/DC converter, and regulates the output power by adjusting the feedback signal according to the switch monitoring signal.
Abstract:
A system and method of controlling the primary switching FET turn-on and turn-off profiles in a switching power converter suppresses voltage and current spikes, reduces power consumption, and reduces system switching time. A combination of fast and slow shunt circuits is used to control current flow through the primary switching FET. The FET switching rate is slowed during the period of maximum current change to limit the magnitude of switching spikes and is allowed to proceed rapidly at other times to reduce switching time and power consumption.

Rotating shafts of the rotating mechanisms are mounted in the mounting bracket. An automatic operating mechanism includes a driving motor, a rod controlled by the driving motor, and lifting mechanisms cooperating with the rod. The flush driving device also includes pull arms connected to both the rotating mechanisms and the lifting mechanisms for controlling the flush of the toilet.
Abstract:
This invention comprises an improved electroporation electrode system comprising a single needle and a ring or donut shaped electrode wherein the difference in surface area of the electrodes provide for a substantial reduction of current density near the surface of the treated tissue and a more concentrated current density sufficient for electroporation only in tissues adjacent to the terminal portion of the single needle electrode. Thus, this invention provides for targeting specific tissue for electroporation and also should provide for lessening the sensation of electric current in the treated tissue.
Abstract:
The invention provides compositions of matter, methods and treatment means for improving cosmetic appearance of skin and restoring aged or damaged skin to a healthy appearance. One embodiment, the invention teaches administration of autologous adipose derived mesenchymal stem cells that have been cultured under “activating conditions”. In one specific embodiment activation is performed prior to administration of cells into patient's skin. In another embodiment adipose derived cells are administered systemically, with localization of stem cells to skin by administration of a localizing agent, said localizing agent comprising either a peptide; a protein; or a photoceutical.
Abstract:
This patent discloses new data supporting superior collagen induction by cosmetically useful preparations derived from adipose stem cells that have been manipulated for superior growth factor and anti-aging properties. In one embodiment cellular mixtures derived from adipose tissue are composed, induced to produce regenerative factors, with said regenerative factors harvested and compounded into cosmetic preparations. In one embodiment, the invention provides for manufacture of adipose derived regenerative factor (ARDF), which may be utilized as a cosmetic and skin rejuvenating agent.
Abstract:
A controller for controlling power to a light source includes a first sensing pin, a second sensing pin, a third sensing pin, and a driving pin. The first sensing pin receives a first signal indicating an instant current flowing through an energy storage element. The second sensing pin receives a second signal indicating an average current flowing through the energy storage element. The third sensing pin receives a third signal indicating whether the instant current decreases to a predetermined current level. The driving pin provides a driving signal to a switch to control an average current flowing through the light source to a target current level. The driving signal is generated based on one or more signals selected from the first signal, the second signal and the third signal.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of primary side output voltage sensing for a flyback power converter preserves secondary-side tranformer isolation without the use of opto-isolators and does not require multiple high-speed sample and hold circuits. A timing circuit measures the duration of the diode conduction interval during a first PWM control cycle and applies this measurement to set the voltage sampling time of the feedback loop during the next PWM cycle. The voltage sampling time for the next PWM cycle is configurable and may be set to occur near the middle of the diode conduction interval or near the end of the diode conduction interval. The cycle-to-cycle PWM duty cycle adjustment step size may be limited to ensure that the diode conduction interval does not vary substantially from cycle to cycle.
