Abstract: A mapping system for an environment includes an image sensor configured to generate image data of the environment. The mapping system includes an entity tag including entity indicia, where the entity indicia identifies an entity associated with the entity tag. The mapping system includes a controller configured to determine a position coordinate of the entity tag based on the image data, where the image data includes the position indicia and the entity indicia.

Abstract: Dead reckoning correction utilizing patterned light projection is provided herein. An example method can include navigating a drone along a pattern using dead reckoning, the pattern having a plurality of lines, detecting one of the plurality of lines using an optical sensor of the drone, determining when a line of travel of the drone is not aligned with the one of the plurality of lines, and realigning the line of travel of the drone so as to be aligned with the one of the plurality of lines to compensate for drift that occurs during navigation using dead reckoning.

Abstract: An apparatus for applying individual tapes in layers onto a substrate includes a plurality of reels, applicators, and a guide member. A first reel holds a first tape and a second reel holds a second tape. A first applicator includes a first pressure surface that receives the first tape from the first reel and presses the first tape in a direction toward the substrate to apply the first tape to the substrate. The second applicator includes a second pressure surface that receives the second tape from the second reel. The second pressure surface is aligned to dispense the second tape over a section of the first tape applied to the substrate and to press the second tape toward the substrate to apply the second tape over the first tape. The guide member is disposed between the reels and the applicators and aligns the first and second tapes during application.

Abstract: A battery expansion cradle is attachable to an electric scooter (eScooter) handlebar. The battery expansion cradle includes a battery connection terminal disposed on a face of the battery expansion cradle, where the battery connection terminal electrically connects with a power bus of the electric scooter. A battery module is removably attachable to the face of the battery expansion cradle and the back terminal of another battery. The battery module includes a connector electrically coupling the first rechargeable battery to the eScooter power bus, and includes a mobile device holder disposed on a face of the first battery module with holding means for securing a mobile device to the face of the battery module, which may be offset from the center of the external battery to allow for a clear forward view of the scooter using the smartphone's front camera, and the user's face using the rear camera.

Abstract: Stackable battery assemblies and methods of use are disclosed herein. An example battery assembly includes an energy storage device, a housing having a locking unit, a receiver unit, and a sidewall that are interconnected to form an enclosure that retains the energy storage device. The locking unit can include a plate that is spaced apart from the sidewall of the housing by a second sidewall, the plate supporting a first electrical connector that is electrically coupled to the energy storage device via a locking member. The receiver unit can include a third sidewall that defines a cavity that is shaped to correspond with the locking unit, the third sidewall having a lock notch and a second electrical connector that is electrically coupled to the energy storage device.
