The present invention is directed to improved processes for making plastic articles, and articles made therefrom. In a broad aspect, the invention is directed to improved processes and articles made therefrom, that include the steps of providing as separate materials a first material that includes a polyolefin, a second material including an admixture of from about 45 to 85 wt. % of the total admixture of at least one particulated mineral filler; and from about 15 to 55 wt. % of the total admixture of at least a second polyolefin having a melt index greater than about 150 g/10 min at 190° C./2.16 kg, as measured per ISO 1133 (condition D); applying a shear force to form a molten blend; shaping the molten blend and solidifying the molten blend.

The present invention relates to a thermoplastic polyolefin elastomer composition in powder form comprising (i) an olefin block copolymer or (ii) a substantially linear ethylene polymer and/or a linear ethylene polymer and propylene polymer blend. Said composition demonstrates good pulverizing and flow characteristics at ambient temperature. In another aspect, this invention relates to a process for preparing said thermoplastic polyolefin elastomer powder and applications for using said powder. In a further aspect, this invention relates to paper transfer molding said thermoplastic polyolefin elastomer composition into artificial leather, particularly for skins for automotive interior applications such as instrument panels.

Disclosed is a carbonate polymer blend composition comprising (a) a carbonate polymer, (b) a propylene polymer, (c) a compatibilizing graft copolymer, (d) a polymer selected from a graft modified propylene polymer and/or an alpha-olefin carboxylic acid copolymer, and/or an olefin block copolymer, optionally (e) a filler, (f) optionally a thermoplastic resin other than (a), (b), (c), or (d) and (g) optionally one or more additive selected from stabilizers, pigments, mold release agents, flow enhancers, or antistatic agents. Said carbonate polymer blend composition has a good balance of physical properties, impact resistance, process-ability, and reduced gloss in molded articles.
