摘要:
A system and method for securing a Radio Frequency (RF) transaction using a RF identification device (RFID) transaction device is provided. RFID transaction device includes a transactions counter for tallying the number of transactions attempted or completed with the RFID transactions device. Counter value is used to create a RFID device authentication tag for use in validating the RFID device. A RFID reader, interacting with the RFID device, provides a random number to the RFID device which may be used in the RFID device authentication tag creation and validation. RFID reader may also use counter value and random number to create a RFID reader authentication key useful for validating RFID reader. RFID transaction device may include an encryption key for creating RFID transaction device authentication tag. Likewise, RFID reader may include a RFID reader encryption key for creating RFID reader authentication tag.

The present invention includes systems and methods for facilitating transactions using non-traditional devices. A method of the present invention includes the steps of forming a transaction request at a non-traditional device, and communicating the transaction request to a reader. In one embodiment, the non-traditional device may be configured with a transponder or other RF operable device. In another embodiment, the non-traditional device may be configured with an RFID protocol, such as a protocol in ISO 8583 format. In yet another embodiment, the non-traditional device may be configured to facilitate transactions using a random number, an authentication tag, a counter, or an encrypted payload.

Systems and methods are configured to manage data sets associated with a transaction device. For example, a method is provided for facilitating the management of distinct data sets on a transaction device that are provided by distinct data set owners, wherein the distinct data sets may include differing formats. The method includes the steps of: adding, by a read/write, a first data set to the financial transaction device, wherein the first data set is owned by a first owner; adding, by the read/write device, a second data set to the financial transaction device, wherein the second data set is owned by a second owner; and storing the first data set and the second data set on the financial transaction device in accordance with an owner defined format. The first and second data sets are associated with first and second owners, respectively, and are configured to be stored independent of each other The transaction device user may be permitted to select at least one of the multiple data sets for transaction completion using a secondary identifier indicia. Where the user selects multiple accounts for transaction completion, the user may be permitted to allocate portions of a transaction to the selected transaction accounts. The transaction request may be processed in accordance with the user's allocations.

A process for providing an RF module configured to convert a nontraditional transaction device for traditional transaction completion is disclosed. The RF module is placed in physical and logical communication with a microprocessor of a nontraditional transaction device for providing user account information to the microprocessor and for receiving data from a RFID reader, kiosk or personal computer. The microprocessor is configured to activate operation of the RF module prior to transaction processing. The RF module may also receive secondary identification information, such as, a PIN, voice recognition data or biometric data for secondary end user authentication. The RF module may also transmit user account data for transaction processing using a USB interface of the nontraditional transaction device.

Facilitating transactions using non-traditional devices and biometric data to activate a transaction device is disclosed. A transaction request is formed at a non-traditional device, and communicated to a reader, wherein the non-traditional device may be configured with an RFID device. The RFID device is not operable until a biometric voice analysis has been executed to verify that the carrier of the RFID equipped non-traditional device is the true owner of account information stored thereon. The non-traditional device provides a conduit between a user and a verification system to perform biometric voice analysis of the user. When the verification system has determined that the user is the true owner of one or more accounts stored at the verification system, a purchase transaction is facilitated between the verification system. Transactions may further be carried out through a non-RF device such as a cellular telephone in direct communication with an acquirer/issuer or payment processor

An RF recurrent billing system in which an account number associated with a recurrent billing account is stored within an RF transaction device. The user of the RF transaction device may present the device for completing a transaction, and the transaction, if successfully completed, is billed to the user's recurrent billing account. The user is billed for the transaction during a billing cycle, typically occurring on a regular basis according to the recurrent billing account.

The present invention relates to a process for providing a RF module configured to convert a nontraditional transaction device for traditional transaction completion. The RF module is placed in physical and logical communication with a microprocessor of a nontraditional transaction device for receiving a personalization file to enable the RF module to complete RF transactions. In an exemplary embodiment, the microprocessor is configured to receive the personalization file from a mobile device account provider subsequent to an end user establishing communication with the device account provider and notifying the provider that a RF module is to be personalized. The mobile device account provider may receive the personalization file from a RF module account issuer and provide the personalization file to the RF module via the mobile device microprocessor. In another exemplary embodiment, the mobile device may include a USB interface for use in providing the personalization file to the RF module by establishing communications between the USB interface and the mobile device account provider or the RF module account provider as required.
