Abstract: Disclosed is a gear pump (10) comprising a contra rotating gear element pair (30 and 40) mounted within a housing (20), each gear element having complementary gear teeth sets providing a pumping action in use, said teeth being formed from an annulus (34 and 44) of generally rigid construction mounted on a relatively flexible inner section (35 and 45), the gear pair being mounted such that their respective annuli are biased into resilient contact with the housing to provide a sliding seal.

Abstract: A separation system, a method in a separation system and an elution arrangement to be provided in a separation system for separating a biomolecule from a cell culture are provided. The method comprises the steps of: —providing a feed from a cell culture (3; 103; 203) comprising said biomolecule to a magnetic separator (5; 105; 205) and providing to the magnetic separator magnetic beads comprising ligands capable of binding this biomolecule; —separating by the magnetic separator said magnetic beads with bound biomolecules from the rest of the feed; —forwarding said magnetic beads as a slurry with an added buffer to an elution cell (7; 107; 207); —eluting the bound biomolecules in the elution cell.

Abstract: The invention relates to valve system for controlling a process fluid within a liquid processing system. The valve system comprises a valve arrangement, a pneumatic or hydraulic control system, and a connector unit. When the valve arrangement is connected to the connector unit, two or more valves are formed, such that the pneumatic or hydraulic control system controls an open/close or pressure control mode of the valves. A pump diaphragm system is disclosed, as well as a system for purifying a biological material that comprises the valve system or the pump diaphragm system. Also discloses are methods of using the valve system or the pump diaphragm system in a process for the purification of a biological material.
