摘要: In an ink-delivery system of an ink-jet printer, the needle of the interface mechanism is fully recessed into a cavity of a needle-holding structure and the septum seals the end of a hollow tower. The connection between the needle and a septum tower allows for transportation of ink from an ink reservoir to an ink-jet pen in the printhead. The tower is configured to be inserted into the cavity so that the needle pierces the septum. To prevent needle pricks and cuts, the cavity has an aperture with a diameter less than that of a human finger. Therefore, the narrow diameter aperture prevents inadvertent digital access to the needle. Furthermore, the septum tower may be attached to a replaceable component, such as an ink reservoir or a pen. Each time that a component is replaced, the relative positioning of its septum tower may change. A floating-bushing assembly loosely retains the needle-holding structure so that the structure has limited freedom to move. The limited movement may be translational and/or rotational. Thus, when the tower and needle are brought together, the assembly allows the needle-holding structure to shift and to rotate. This compensates for the relative repositioning of the tower while making an effective connection between the needle and the septum.

摘要: A tube routing configuration for a printing system with an off-axis ink supply system. The system includes a printer housing and a transporting system for transporting a print medium along a medium path to a print area. A scanning carriage holds a printing cartridge with a print-head, the carriage holding the cartridge such that the printhead faces the print zone. A carriage scanning apparatus moves the carriage along a scanning axis transverse to the medium path at the print area. An off-axis ink supply station is mounted in a fixed position relative to the printer housing. Hollow flexible tubing interconnects between the carriage and the off-axis ink supply station to provide an ink replenishment path for the printer cartridge. The tubing is routed between the carriage and the off-axis supply station such that a loop is formed in the tubing, and wherein the loop is substantially contained within a vertically projected volume swept out by the carriage, thereby reducing the need for additional product volume required for the tubing.

摘要: A method of continuous testing of repetitive functional blocks provided on an integrated circuit (IC) which includes selecting one of the repetitive functional blocks at a time for testing, substituting a test repetitive functional block for a selected repetitive functional block, and testing the selected repetitive functional block during normal functional mode of the IC. An IC which includes repetitive functional blocks for performing corresponding functional block operations during normal functional mode of the IC, and a test system which performs continuous testing of each repetitive functional block while the functional block operations are performed during normal functional mode of the IC. One block may be tested during normal operation for each IC reset event without transferring or copying state information. Multiple blocks may be tested one at a time during normal operation by transferring state information between a selected block and a test block.

摘要: Radar reflective rescue and safety devices comprise radar permeable coverings around a plurality of reflectors. The radar reflective material may be incorporated into inflatable life vests or foam filled life vests. Additionally, inflatable life rafts with radar reflective cells are able to help personnel lost at sea to be found by radar. The radar reflective cells may also be incorporated into an inflatable cylindrical tube as radar cross-section enhancer separate from other flotation devices. The reflectors are flexible metallic material that forms reflective cavities once the shell is inflated. The reflective cavities may appear as flat surfaces, tilted surfaces, corner reflectors or some combination thereof depending upon the orientation of the cavities to an incident radar wave.

摘要: A microwave motion sensor for detecting multiple levels of motion of a target is disclosed. The motion sensor includes a transceiver for broadcasting a signal into a predetermined area and receiving a reflected signal with a receiver for producing first and second directional signals. A signal conditioning circuit is provided for amplifying the first and second directional signals and digitizing the directional signals. The signal conditioning circuit includes a micro motion amplifier for separately amplifying one of the directional signals and producing a micro motion signal. A processor is provided for receiving the first and second directional signals transmitted by the signal conditioning circuit, and for receiving the micro motion signal. The processor includes a circuit for analyzing the directional signals, and a circuit for comparing the micro motion signal to a threshold. The processor is capable of adaptively switching between a first mode for detecting a threshold level of motion, a second mode for detecting a level of motion which is less than the threshold level of motion, and a third mode for detecting a level of motion which is greater than the threshold level of motion.
