    摘要: This invention relates to an improved polyester composition that has a wide temperature range of crystallization. The composition comprises a polyester and a chemically reacting crystallization modifier having the following formula:H.sub.2 N--R.sup.1 --O--(R.sup.2 --O).sub.x --R.sup.3 --NH.sub.2whereinR.sup.1 and R.sup.3 are independently selected from the group consisting of alkylene units having from about 2 to about 6 carbon atoms;R.sup.2 is a hydrocarbon radical of 2-6 carbon atoms; andx is from 1 to 100.

    摘要: A polyester composition comprising: the sodium salt of a hydrocarbon acid; and the ester of an aliphatic carboxylic acid having at least one carboxyl group and from 2 to 8 carbon atoms; and an alcohol having one hydroxyl group and from 1 to 10 carbon atoms. The sodium salt is preferably sodium stearate and the ester is preferably di(2-ethyl-hexyl)adipate. The composition can be filled and have impact modifiers.

    摘要: The present invention is a composition comprising a linear saturated polyester and from 0.5 to 30 percent by weight of thee polyester of at least one ester of an ethoxylated polyfunctional alcohol having a molecular weight of from 500 to about 1,500. The ester is of an ethoxylated aromatic alcohol and a carboxylic acid wherein the ethoxylated aromatic alcohol has the formulaHO (R O).sub.n --R.sup.1 --(OR).sub.n --OHwherein, R is the same or different hydrocarbon radical of from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, n can be the same or a different integer of from 2 to 15; and R.sup.1 is an aromatic radical preferably derived from an aromatic dialcohol, most preferably bisphenol A. The ethoxylated aromatic alcohol has greater than 20 carbon atoms. The acid is a carboxylic acid of from 1 to 25 and preferably 3 to 10 carbon atoms, and from 1 to 10 carboxyl groups. Preferably the acid has from 3 to 10 carbon atoms and one carboxyl group.

    摘要: Disclosed are compositions and process for the improving the rate of crystallization of polyamide containing compositions which comprise two polyamides having dissimilar melting temperatures, said process comprising the steps of heating the two polyamides to a temperature which is above the melting point of the polyamide having the lower melting temperature but below the melting temperature of the polyamide having the higher melting temperature, as well compositions made in accordance with the process. Preferred polyamides include polycaprolactam and polyhexamethylene adipamide, and the said compositions may optionally include further constituents. The process provided for improved nucleation without the necessity of inorganic nucleation promoters or agents, and articles made in accordance to the process exhibit good physical properties.

    摘要: A method of forming an amorphous crystallizable thermoplastic polymer composition. The polymer composition has a modulus of rigidity which decreases to a minimum value with increasing temperature and then begins to increase. The process includes heating polymer to below a temperature at which crystal formation occurs and form the polymer. The polymer composition is then heated to a temperature at which crystal formation can occur and be annealed. This process is useful to make articles having a thickness of from 0.127 cm (0.050 inches) to 1.27 cm (0.50 inches) such as sheets and tubes of the amorphous polymer and then reforming and annealing them.
