Abstract:
A hinge for doors or windows which includes a first blade fitted to a door or window and a second blade attached firmly to the casing of the door or window. One of these blades is provided with a central knuckle placed in the free space between two end knuckles attached firmly to the other blade, and one pin engaged in these knuckles ensures the free rotation of one blade as compared to the other. The aforesaid central knuckle comprises, furthermore, a pore that opens into one or more housings into which are engaged plugs provided with jaws fitted with catches that enter into peripheral grooves made in the pin. These jaws take the shape of a cylinder with an outer diameter equal to the inner diameter of the boring of the housings, less twice, at least, the thickness of the catches.
Abstract:
A locking fitting for the sliding leaf of a window, door, or similar type closure which includes, in its housing, a slide connected to a bolt with a hook. The hook cooperates with a keeper which is fixed against movement with the fixed frame. After the movable closure is opened, the hooked bolt is maintained in its unlocked position by a blocking device having an elastic return. Further, the blocking device is formed by an assembly separate from the slide and includes a support which is clamped in the U-section of the movable closure. The support is fitted with a blocking lever which cooperates with the keeper when the movable closure is closed so as to free the hooked bolt for movement and, in consequence, the slide.
Abstract:
A gearing for use in a fitting for a door leaf or window leaf having a frame profile including a guide groove on the movable frame open in the direction of the rabbet space between the movable and stationary frames of the door or window. The positioning rod gearing comprises a partially insertable gearing housing (7) and a guide section (7c). A connecting slide (19) is supported in a longitudinally shiftable manner in the housing guide part (7c) which slide comprises a coupling extension (21) on at least one end for coupling a positioning rod (22). A drive pinion (13) which is rotatably supported in the housing (7) can be rotated by means of an operating handle of the positioning rod gearing and meshes with a cogging (17) of the connecting slide (19). The drive pinion (13) is a stepped pinion having a large gear rim (13a) which meshes with the cogging (17) of the connecting slide (19) whereas the smaller gear rim (13b) meshes via a transmission pinion (12) with an actuating pinion (11) which can be rotated by an operating handle. The invention is particularly useful in an espagnolette fitting for a window or door.
Abstract:
The double-acting shock absorber producing the throttling of a fluid flowing through a constricted passage for damping out a movement in constructed, in combination of, a fixed piston (2) and a fixed cylinder (3) cooperating both with a movable member (4). This movable member has two axially aligned portions, that is, an upper portion (5) and a lower portion (6), the upper portion having a cylindrical cavity in which the fixed piston (2) is slidably fitted, and the lower portion having the configuration of a piston slidably engaged in the fixed cylinder.
Abstract:
An apparatus having a sliding leaf, a slide member, at least two rail wheels mounted on respective spindles, a mounting mechanism affixed to the slide member and extending in a direction perpendicular to a plane of the sliding leaf, and fixing lugs affixed to and extending outwardly from a lower edge of the slide member at respective ends of the slide member. The slide member is a casing having two sets of recesses. The recesses in each set of recesses increase in height from a center of the casing to a respective end of the casing. The recesses in each set extend from the lower edge of the casing towards an upper wall of casing. The spindles have ends received by respective recesses of the two sets of recesses. The recesses have a narrowing so as to lock onto a respective end of the spindles. The casing is secured in a slot formed in a lower edge of the sliding leaf. The mounting mechanism enables the casing to rock within the slot. The mounting mechanism is a boss interposed between a bottom of the slot and the upper wall of the casing. The fixing lugs are formed of a flexible and spring material. The fixing lugs are affixed to the lower edge of the sliding leaf.
Abstract:
In a lock for sliding closures a covering plate forms an integral part of a sliding assembly. Fixing members include arrangements to receive complementary arrangements of the covering plate and to cooperate with the latter to guide the moving assembly when it slides relative to the wall and to hold it against the wall.
Abstract:
In a lock fitting for sliding closures a bolt-carrier includes a screwthreaded hole with its axis perpendicular to a covering plate to receive a screw for immobilizing a bolt on the bolt-carrier. The covering plate has an orifice for access to the screw and to the screwthreaded hole on the axis of the screwthreaded hole when the bolt-carrier is in its locked position. The fitting includes a plug to blank off the orifice. The plug can be retracted inside the casing to allow access to the screw and then returned to its normal position in which it blanks off the orifice.
Abstract:
A striker plate, particularly for doors, windows, or other closures. It includes a body having a bearing face which is adapted to be secured to the interior surface of the fixed frame of the closure and a lug provided with hooking surfaces cooperating with the rear surfaces of the hooking portion of the latch bolt secured to the closure. The striker plate is provided with a bidirectional adjustment mechanism interposed between the bearing face of the body and the interior surface of the fixed frame.
Abstract:
A locking fitting for a leaf of a door, French window or the like, such as a lock, espagnolette-lock or the like, at least one spring-lock (2) elastically restored into locking position and capable of being actuated, through an appropriate control mechanism, such as by a control handle or knob. This locking fitting includes a retainer associated to the spring-bolt and designed so as to be capable, on the one hand, of maintaining the latter in an unlocked or semi-locked position when the leaf is open and, on the other hand, of being made inactive in order to release the spring-lock by the sash-frame of the door or French window, in particular by a keeper this sash-frame is provided with and which is aimed at receiving the spring-bolt.
