摘要: This invention relates to a composition and procedure for manipulating the behaviour of nun moth, Lymantria monacha (L.) and gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar (L.). More particularly, this invention relates to the preparation and use of chiral and racemic disparlure, chiral or racemic cis-7,8-epoxy-octadecane, 2-methyl-Z7-octadecene and Z7-octadene for manipulating the behaviour of nun moth and gypsy moth. A composition of chemicals for manipulating the behavior of nun moth and/or gypsy moth, said composition comprising two or more chemicals selected from the group consisting of: (a) 2-methyl-7R,8S-epoxy-octadecane (RS-disparlure); (b) 2-methyl-7S,8R-epoxy-octadecane (SR-disparlure); (c) 7R,8S-epoxy-octadecane; (d) 7S,8R-epoxy-octadecane; (e) 2-methyl-Z7-octadecene; and (f) Z7-octadecene.

摘要: A compact, vehicle-mounted antenna (10) is disclosed. In one embodiment, a first and second antenna elementS (30, 40) are positioned on a conductive ground plane (FIG. 1). The antenna elements can comprise platforms supported by a ground (34) and a feed (36). The antenna elements can be tuned to various bands (e.g., cellular of PCS). At least one additional antenna element (e.g., a GPS receive antenna (60)) can be positioned between the two antenna elements. One of the feeds of the antenna elements can be angled so that the antenna element has a desired height (e.g., a height matching the other antenna element). The antenna elements can be electrically connected to a transmission line (116) via a single feed line.

摘要: Methods, computer-readable media, and systems for externally cued aircraft warning and defense are disclosed. A surveillance system may include a sensor field or array and may include a processor system that processes signals including acoustic signals received by the sensor array. Signals including acoustic signals are processed to determine the presence of indicia, including acoustic signatures, of known surface-to-air missiles including man-portable air defense systems. When the presence of such surface-to-air missiles is indicated, a cue signal is sent to one or more countermeasure systems that include one or more countermeasures such as chaff, expendable decoys and flares. The countermeasure systems may be ground-based or aircraft-based. The countermeasures are deployed in response to the cue signal. The surface-to-air missile may consequently be defeated.
