    摘要: A device for measuring the speed of a golf club has a pair of coils spaced a given distance apart with each of the coils forming an oscillating electro-magnetic field which are positioned to interrupt the course of the head of a golf club. When a golf club head successively passes through the first and second oscillating magnetic fields, the natural frequency of the combined fields is altered. A detector circuit including a phase locked loop detects the change in frequency as the club successively pass through the two fields and the time elapsed is measured by a clock and recorded in the memory of a microprocessor which uses the information, along with the given distance between the fields to calculate the speed of the club.

The strength and uniformity of the magnetic field is adjusted by including a second set of auxiliary permanent magnets or a set of electromagnetic shim coils positioned within the air gap surrounding and overtapping a portion of the air gap. Further adjustment of the magnetic field is accomplished shaping the front surfaces of the pole pieces, thus affecting the shape and direction of the resulting magnetic field.

    摘要: There is disclosed herein a nuclear magnetic resonance apparatus for testing body fluids for a constituent, for example, blood for glucose. The apparatus includes a principal magnet, a magnetizable coil, and a circuit for energizing the coil for energizing and realigning molecules and detecting changes resulting from relaxation of said field and analyzing said changes. The apparatus is compact and adapted to receive and test an extremity or vessel carrying a body fluid. The coil is constructed to be positioned adjacent the extremity or vessel to be tested. Circuit means are provided for energizing the coil to energize and realign molecules adjacent said coil, so as to permit molecules adjacent said coil to assume an aligned position and for sensing changes in position when the coil is deenergized, which is indicated by spectra having peaks corresponding to various molecular bonds. The circuit also includes means for comparing the actual value of a peak for a first constituent to a predetermined value for the peak of said first constituent and determining the actual value of a second constituent from a predetermined relationship between the values of the peaks for the first and second constituents. Specifically, predetermined water and glucose peaks are compared with the measured water and glucose peaks for determining the measured glucose concentration.

    摘要: A sump pump control includes a microprocessor that sends a trigger pulse to an alternistor to turn the alternistor on and connect the sump pump to an NC power source. The microprocessor also monitors the power source to find a positive/negative crossover point. The microprocessor adjusts the trigger to apply full power to the pump motor during normal operation and delays the trigger to apply reduced power for a soft start and soft stop. The microprocessor also triggers an alarm in the event of failure of the device, including failure of the alternistor or the microprocessor.

    摘要: A device is provided to prevent an unauthorized telephone unit from initiating a telephone call, where the unauthorized telephone unit is connected between the central office of the telephone company and the authorized telephone units of the user. The device includes a first detector for detecting a DC current within the lines, and a second detector for detecting the voltage across the lines which lead from the telephone office to the authorized phones. A third detector detects a dual tone multifrequency dialing signal on the line, and a fourth detector detects pulse dialing, and a logic is responsive to all four detectors. When a dialing attempt is made from an unauthorized telephone unit, the first detector will not detect a DC current in the lines to the authorized telephone units, the second detector will detect a drop in voltage across the ring and tip lines, and either the third or fourth detector will detect that a dialing effort is being made. Where an unauthorized dialing is detected, the logic switches a blocking device between the lines to block the unauthorized dialing efforts.
