摘要: Disclosed herein are methods of preparing a composition comprising crystalline biomolecules, for example, crystalline antibodies. In exemplary embodiments, the method comprises forming a fluidized bed of crystalline biomolecules using, for example, a counter-flow centrifuge to exchange buffer and/or to concentrate the crystalline biomolecules in a solution. Also provided are methods of detecting crystalline biomolecules and/or amorphous biomolecules in a sample.

摘要: Chemical-shift nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy involves measuring the effects of chemical bonds in a sample on the resonance frequencies of nuclear spins in the sample. Applying a magnetic field to the sample causes the sample nuclei to emit alternating current magnetic fields that can be detected with color centers, which can act as very sensitive magnetometers. Cryogenically cooling the sample increases the sample's polarization, which in turn enhances the NMR signal strength, making it possible to detect net nuclear spins for very small samples. Flash-heating the sample or subjecting it to a magic-angle-spinning magnetic field (instead of a static magnetic field) eliminates built-in magnetic field inhomogeneities, improving measurement sensitivity without degrading the sample polarization. Tens to hundreds of small, cryogenically cooled sample chambers can be integrated in a semiconductor substrate interlaced with waveguides that contain color centers for optically detected magnetic resonance measurements of the samples' chemical-shift NMR frequencies.

摘要: A pressure chamber has a chamber wall. The chamber wall includes a sensor integrated within the chamber wall, wherein the sensor integrated in the chamber wall comprises defects. A method of determining an effect of pressure on a material is further described. The method includes applying pressure to a material within a pressure chamber and to a pressure chamber wall of the pressure chamber, where the pressure chamber wall has defects. A signal from the defects is sensed while the material and the pressure chamber wall are under pressure. A property of the material is determined based on the sensed signal.

摘要: Brain tumor or other tissue classification and/or segmentation is provided based on from multi-parametric MRI. MRI spectroscopy, such as in combination with structural and/or diffusion MRI measurements, are used to classify. A machine-learned model or classifier distinguishes between the types of tissue in response to input of the multi-parametric MRI. To deal with limited training data for tumors, a patch-based system may be used. To better assist physicians in interpreting results, a confidence map may be generated using the machine-learned classifier.

摘要: An apparatus for measuring liver fat content and/or iron content non-invasively in vivo using unilateral NMR technology is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a unilateral NMR probe positioned against or in the proximity of the body. The probe generates static and RF magnetic fields to measure NMR signals at selected depths into the body. The apparatus further comprises a unilateral magnet and a unilateral antenna placed between a magnet and the body or around the magnet. The unilateral antenna is used to attain NMR signals. The measurement of NMR signals at a single position with a single frequency determines fat content on a specific volume inside the liver. The measurement of NMR signals at a single position with two or more frequencies determines iron content on a specific volume inside the liver.
