    Abstract: This document describes apparatuses and techniques for providing a flexible connector between a secondary circuit board and a main logic board with a permeability shield to increase impedance of the flexible connector to reduce antenna loss from an antenna via the flexible connector to the main logic board. For example, an apparatus includes a secondary circuit board supporting one or more control pads and an antenna. A flexible connector includes a plurality of conductive traces configured to electrically couple the one or more control pads of the secondary circuit board to a coupling on a main logic board. A permeability shield is configured to be disposed along one or more portions of the flexible connector. The permeability shield is configured to increase impedance of the flexible connector to reduce antenna loss of the antenna via the control pads and the flexible connector to the main logic board.

    Abstract: This document describes improved driving circuits for piezoelectric speakers (piezos). In aspects, a charging case for a hearable device includes a piezo and a circuit for driving the piezo having a battery, an inductor, first and second switches, and a microcontroller. The microcontroller is configured to first toggle the first switch for a number of times to charge the piezoelectric speaker via the inductor to a target voltage level and second toggle the second switch to discharge and thus sound the piezo. In such aspects, the first toggling of the first switch and the second toggling of the second switch control a volume and frequency, respectively, of the sounding, improving audio quality and providing finder features to users. Further, charging the piezoelectric speaker via the inductor enables the inductor to be smaller, conserving space within and power consumption of the charging case, leading to improved battery life.

    Abstract: This disclosure describes an extended closure sensor design for an electronic device. An electronic device (300) senses, with a magnetic sensor (306), an open or a closed position of the electronic device (300). A lid magnetic field is propagated through a ferromagnetic material (304) by a lid magnet (302) when a lid (310) or similar component of the electronic device (300) is in the closed position, thereby placing the lid magnetic field incident upon the magnetic sensor (306). In the open position, the lid magnetic field is materially absent and a bias magnet (308) causes a bias magnetic field to be incident upon the magnetic sensor (306).
