Abstract: Air compressor for a vehicle having improved internal cooling efficiency by ensuring a circulation flow of compressed air for internal cooling and allowing the compressed air to sufficiently flow. The air compressor comprises: a housing with a compression unit for introducing and compressing air from outside; a motor unit which includes a rotor and a stator, and drives the compression unit to rotate according to the rotation of the rotor; a bearing unit supporting the rotor to be rotatable; a cooling circulation flow path formed inside the housing for moving, in an axial direction, some of the air compressed in the compression unit and circulating the air to the compression unit; and a bypass flow path which receives some of the air passing through the cooling circulation flow path and bypasses a partial region of the bearing unit to join the cooling circulation flow path.

The air compressor may include: a compressor unit including a front housing having a front inlet and a compressor scroll, and a compressor impeller configured to transfer the air drawn through the front inlet toward the compressor scroll; a motor unit including a motor housing coupled with the front housing, a stator disposed along an inner circumferential surface of the motor housing, and a rotor disposed to pass through the stator and coupled with the compressor impeller by a rotating shaft; a turbine unit including a rear housing coupled with the motor housing, a turbine impeller coupled with the rotating shaft, and a turbine blower formed in the rear housing and configured to exhaust air that has passed through the turbine impeller to the outside; and an air cooling unit coupled with the compressor scroll to cool the stator and the rotating shaft.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an air foil bearing capable of adjusting stiffness of single bumps by varying widths of the single bumps. Since the bumps have the same height in an initial stage, a wedging effect is implemented only when a load is applied thereto by an oil film. Therefore, the air foil bearing is advantageous in terms of height management thereof. In addition, it is possible to stably dampen shocks applied in the direction of rotation of a rotor, to improve a support capability, and to reduce shocks due to damping. Therefore, it is possible to enhance durability of the air foil bearing.
