摘要:
Body fluid sampling device comprising a skin-piercing element having a collection zone for receiving body fluid, and the device further comprising a fluid receiving means remote spaced apart from the collection zone so that body fluid in the collection zone will not contact the fluid receiving means initially. The collection zone takes up a very small volume of body fluid of about 10 to 500 nl in a very short time period of less than 0.5 seconds. The fluid receiving means may have a test zone for performing an analytical reaction. Fluid sample from the collection zone is automatically or manually transported to the fluid receiving means to contact the fluid with the test zone.

Body fluid sampling device comprising a skin-piercing element having a collection zone for receiving body fluid. In one embodiment, the collection zone includes a plurality of holes, e.g., 3 or more holes, or 50 to 100 holes. The hole size may be small, e.g., having a diameter of 0.01 to 0.5 mm. The holes may or may not extend through the lancet. In some embodiments, the holes have a depth of 50 to 500 μm. In other embodiments, the collection zone is porous, or is a roughened area. The collection zone can take up a very small volume of body fluid, e.g., 3 to 10 nL, in a very short time period, e.g., less than 0.5 seconds. In other embodiments, the device further comprises a fluid receiving means spaced apart from the collection zone so that body fluid in the collection zone will not contact the fluid receiving means initially.

The present invention provides a method and device for extracting body fluid from a body part. The method provides a penetration device including a penetration element formed to pierce the body part and an actuator formed to propel forward movement of the penetration element. The penetration element is moved toward the body part at a very high penetration speed to form an impression in the body part having a depth less than about 0.3 mm and the body part is pierced with the penetration element. The actuator of the penetration device is formed to propel forward movement of the penetration element at a penetration speed of at least about 15 m/sec.

The invention relates to a method for creating a puncture wound for obtaining a sample of a body fluid from a body part in which a skin opening is created at a puncture site in the epidermis in a skin-opening step. Then, in a sample collection step a sample collection puncture is executed by using a puncture element with which the skin opening is deepened with the puncture element, thereby creating a puncture wound for obtaining the sample. The invention also relates to a handheld apparatus for implementing this method.

The invention relates to a test element as a single-use article for examining a body fluid, comprising a lancing member that can be inserted into a body part, a collecting area configured thereon for body fluid obtained by the lancing and at least one light guide for an optical measurement in the collecting area. The collecting area is formed by a collection recess of the lancing member which extends in the lancing direction and the light guide is integrated into the lancing member such that it is secure against displacement and the distal end thereof is arranged in a proximal measurement zone of the collection recess.

The invention concerns a control device for a medical test system which has a lancing element that can be inserted into body tissue to collect body fluid and a lancing drive for the lancing element. A sensor element for body fluid is arranged on the lancing element and a control unit is coupled to the sensor element for detecting a fault when collecting body fluid. In order to improve the success rate, the control unit actuates the lancing drive for an automatic puncture repetition in less than 1 second when a fault, e.g., inadequate wetting of a detection field, occurs.

A test element magazine for a system for measuring the concentration of at least one constituent in a fluid sample is provided. The test element magazine comprises at least one test element in at least one chamber. The chamber is individually sealed by a sealing element. The test element comprises at least one active portion for contacting a skin portion of a patient and/or for contacting a fluid sample, wherein the test element further comprises at least one support body, wherein the support body is adapted for being engaged by an actuator. By a forward movement of the test element the support body of the test element applies a force to the sealing element, thereby forcing open the sealing of the chamber.

An infusion device with safeguards for protecting a patient from inappropriate infusion during a malfunction comprises a pump, an electronic controller for controlling the pump, and a mechanical stop facility for stopping the pump by mechanically blocking pump motion. The stop facility periodically requires resetting by the controller to continue infusion.

Catheter for monitoring the concentration of an analyte in a body fluid having an implantable distal area (7) for the uptake of body fluids and a proximal area (8) with an outlet opening (14), wherein the catheter comprises a catheter casing (1) having microopenings which are permeable to at least part of the body fluid and at least partially hold back corpuscular components, and a catheter core (2) which is located in the catheter casing (1). The catheter core preferably has a microstructure on its peripheral surface and/or the catheter casing has a microstructure on its inner wall which form a hollow space between the catheter core and catheter casing. Moreover the invention concerns a method for the manufacture of such a catheter.
